I just installed a set of Ruby EL34STRs in my Splawn Quick Rod and have been happy with the results.

So your calling it a Quick Rod now LOL . I`m gonna have my Super Sport converted from the 6v6s to EL34s in a few weeks and I think I`m gonna go with the Rubys that your using. I think that might turn the Super Sport into a Street Rod

thanks for the suggestions but i`m really interested in the JJ EL34-2. Not the regular JJ EL34 and not the JJ E34L. Did somebody try these? They are cheap but i cant find any reviews in the net.

The NOS tubes are way too expensive. Cause i crank my amps into a Suhr Reactive Load you might imagine that i i need a long lasting cheap solution. And i have lots of EL34 based amps, Friedman Smallbox, Roccaforte Jenelle, JCM800, a Marshall 1959 HW, ...
You can try the 'used but test strong' ones and not spend much at all. I would try a pair of vintage used tubes at a low price just to see. They really do make a huge difference. I haven't had any power tubes go bad yet out of my stash of older vintage 34s, but I don't gig that much anymore. But they do get an hour a day of use. NOS tubes are ridiculously overpriced. I've never bought NOS anything tube wise, the only tubes that have failed me are newer production. Some pre tubes in both 5153s I had and a new Vintage Modern years back.
