I've recently acquired two of the best guitars I've ever played: a Fender '56 RI and a Gibson R9. Not only are the two exceptional instruments, they fit me like a glove. I've played quality instruments from Suhr, Tom Anderson, and a few others, and though a high price tag certainly doesn't always indicate high quality, IME a low one almost guarantees its absence. After playing a few high-dollar dogs, I'm wondering which company people feel consistently puts out excellent instruments and still charges a fair price.

10 options is the limit for a poll. If you choose other, reply back!

No kidding, Carvin. It smokes the others based on your criteria.

I urge you to add it to your poll before too many humans vote.

I trust you will adhere to my advice as I have had experience running complex polls in this forum, some of which have been sold to the various guitar magazines.

It's the one you don't have on the list..........Carvin, without a doubt.

***BTW, how did Gibson ever make the fuckin' list?

I got to agree with Carvin #1, excellent craftsmanship, great service, and premium parts... also Schecter for the money is pretty awesome depending on the model. Based on whats listed tho Ibanez is killer. With Ibz you can get a really great guitar for under a $1,000 with all the bells and whistles that will last you forever. My buddy still plays his 1987 Ibz RG as his main guitar and its sounds and plays amazing.

While I certainly won't make the argument myself, I've heard more than one person claim Gibson as a great value.

Oh, ok. I just never heard that from anyone myself.

Indie Guitars makes a hell of a guitar for a very low price point.

I've been playing my Edwards which is ESP basically and pound for pound they just slay also

Although I didn't pick Gibson for this, since there are too many of their models that don't fit this poll, they do have quite a few that do...such as the SG Standard, Explorer, V and some of the Studios are really nice including the Tribute series. They may not be your cup of tea, but they are really good quality for the price....and that is what the poll is. Quality:price ratio

Maybe not Charvel custom shop (never owned or played one so I can't attest) but their standard guitars are amazing for the money.

+1 for Carvin. Love my DC and planning on getting a carved top soon.

Carvin.
Agile.... Flame on. :D

The Charvels are sweet but the few I have played, the neck is too wide for my likings.

I've owned a few carvins, bought them crazy cheap used, and still didn't keep them. You get a lot of options and stuff for your money, but if you don't keep the guitar I don't see the 'value' personally.

From the list presented, I voted Charvel, since the recent USA Pro mod series was a great value on a really good guitar. I have four of them, and the least of them is still a good guitar.

Some Gibsons are high value for the $ IMHO - the beforementioned SG standard, the SG fadeds, LP studios, etc... my favorite Gibson right now is a 2005 Faded Les Paul Standard. Has full binding on the neck, but they did a cheaper finish. Guitar sounds better than most LPs I've owned or played and wasn't too expensive new for what you paid for.

My favorite guitars right now are my Tom Andersons, but I don't see them as a high quality/price ratio. Although the quality is off the charts. :)

Carvin

Warmoth if you don't mind putting it together.

On the used market, I think some of the Suhr Pro Series are stupid cheap for the quality you get.
