Here you go, this is for the guys with supposed bionic ears that can pick recordings apart. No need to judge the sloppy playing, Spent a few some time with a friends amp and decided to do a quick comparison recording. Which is the Axe FX, which is the Yamaha THR10x and which is the real amp?

Tough one!!!

1. Thr
2. Axe
3. Amp

Holly hell, I am completely unsure though.

What DI are you using? Seems really hot/strong.

Not sure which is which, but the second sounded best.

Question is the real one lifted from the actual VH track or is it you and your buddy playing all 3 with a tube amp miced?

If its the original 2 I think is closest ,1 and 3 have more gain and more Chunk to the low end attack not a bad thing but different than the original tone

Its me playing through on all 3 samples, Wasn't going for a spot on tone match but more of an all around VH tone

All three sound like I'm listening to an MP3 being played through the 1/2 inch speaker on my iPad.

This. These guess the clips while fun for the OP are useless. Modelers are great for recording and getting consistent tones. With clips you have no gage for the feel of playing... that's when it becomes very easy to tell the difference.

Actually more than a few people on here who rag on the axe fx say they can hear the difference in clips(it sounds digital etc etc) This is for those people. These were recorded straight,no post processing etc. Im more than curious at the guys who say they can hear the difference
