Totally guessing, not gonna claim to be an expert. Yamaha/axe/Friedman. Or Yamaha/Friedman/axe. Curious now what the right order is

This. These guess the clips while fun for the OP are useless. Modelers are great for recording and getting consistent tones. With clips you have no gage for the feel of playing... that's when it becomes very easy to tell the difference.

This was my point. While its pretty obvious that all three tracks sound a little different - even on my sonically challenged iPad - most of us aren't in any position to accurately interpret which is which based on a couple of compressed samples over the Internet.

I don't think anyone doubts that the Axe records well anymore... But did it give you the same hard on that the real Friedman did when you recorded it?.

I'm just impressed that 1 of them is the THR10x........sounds like a useful little unit for $200 on eBay.

Is this thing worth having around?

It definitely is! I love that little thr10x. Great for travel as its battery powered and they sound and play great. Ive used it to bring with me when buying guitars off craiglist just to make sure they work when you meet up with someone lol. It also works as a soundcard/interface for your computer. The thr was recorded direct into my mac through its usb out.

The sound clips/videos that typically sound different enough to tell have less effects going on. All three sounded good. I've heard axefx in person and it does sound pretty good, but so did the Johnson amp modeler amps

1. Axe 2. Yamaha 3. Amp

The first one was believable as the amp and had a real clean audio quality.
Second one was pretty good but had some digital crunch on the chugs.
Third one was definitely the amp. There was a little SM57 fizz in the intro. And you can hear that low resonant cabinet clunk.

I agree with this actually .the low thunk is present on 1 and 3 .however as you said one seems to be a lil more smooth perfect and a tad less chunk .
I will say tone wise though if 1 is Axe its very close in character .

Where I have always heard kinda a "signature axe " tone kinda a compressed mid honk .. it's pretty much not there in this example to my ears

So this is just wow
1 is in fact the Axe Fx, 2 is the little thr10x and 3 is....the Axe Fx with m57's added to the cab sims but the same patch as 1 otherwise!
Nice ears man.
I know I know, playing a trick on everyone but I wanted to see which one most people thought was the real amp. Im also surprised some liked the thr10x lol.

This is exactly why I thought they all sounded too similar, because they were. This is completely worthless.

That difference is solved in FW18.09. BTW did you use the new FW? :worship:
Loving this permanent updatetittery. It is like your wife is permantly visiting the plastic surgent for more realistic breasts.
And it still feels fake

This is why I don't usually take part in these....straight up trickery. And, this was no exception. Even still, I feel justified in my selections. But, not cool.....not cool at all.
