Which of these 2 amps would you choose?

Hands down the EH3

The XTC is way too compressed

Never played the pwe but I would have to pick it. The clips I have heard have been stellar and gas inducing.

Bogner. Every experience I've had with PWE has been less than positive.

This kinda shit needs to be shared.

Where's the Richedie Clause of Conduct on this post?

Never spent any time with a PWE... I am a fan of Bogners though.

I played my friends 101B the other day, robotechnology. I've complained in the past about the red channel on the XTC, but everything sounded great when I played it this time. I never thought the XTC was to compressed and still don't feel that way. It's got it's own thing going on which is that low mid growl. I think it it would be fine in a band mix if EQ'd for it. We had it on a Port City OS 2x12 with silverbell speakers. Organic, woody, chewy are ways to describe the XTC. Some love that some don't.

Judging by clips the PWE sounds a bit more Marshally. But the XTC has stood the test of time and 20 years later it's still here and in demand.

Someone is selling a PWE in the classifieds, looks like he only owned it for 2 weeks or so.

How do you now this isn't "richeddie" under an alternate moniker?

:scared:

PWE sounds great but I agree about it being in the "High Dollar British" camp. Many less expensive, well built options for that. The 101B would be my choice.

Had a 101b, own a 20th XTC. Of those two, the 101b would be my choice, but keep in mind it is very smooth and has a looser feel and more bloom to the attack, than the immediacy of a Marshall.

My first thought.

Hey dude, I think we started off on the wrong foot. Why don't you drop by the shop sometime, always great to meet fellow Montreal guitar players.

Will you beat me up?
When I say flavour, it can still be a good flavour; hopefully you can stick around and make your mark like Bogner, Soldano and other top builders
