Don't ask me the difference between the 2 . Igot a real good idea what I would be getting with the Friedman but when I tossed this up to Randall at Chondro guitars he said to get the Mezzabarba Mzero . I'm not sure if I'm comparing apples to apples here but give me some input . I'll even allow Wizard suggestions since that's the rage !!! LOL!!

Call James Lynn Burke at Blues City Music. He can advise on the Mezzabarba as he’s a dealer

Never played a Friedman but the stuff I have heard, they are very different from the Wizard stuff. Friedman being more compressed.

No idea what that other amp is...never heard of it.

The BE100 Deluxe is a killer amp. The best out of all the Friedmans I’ve owned. The TS is a close second though, just less versatile

I just got a Twin Sister . Lusted after one forever . In a way it's perfect for me because it sounds great and it's butt simple but it sounds like everything else I have which actually is all Marshall based . I could probably do a few more things with the Be -100 Deluxe .

You could give me one of the Sears amps in a case and I'd try to find a pedal or a tube to get it to sound like a Marshall ! Lol

Not sure what my problem is.

Mezzabarba is never a brand I've considered. Don't know why, but for whatever the reason, I've lumped it into a group of amp makers that I have absolutely zero interest in exploring. Revv, H&K, KRS, Kruse, MI Audio etc. No idea why, either.

Guess I'm just happy with what I know, and Friedman is on that list. As is Wizard, so take it for what it's worth.
Mezzabarba doesn't make any sense for me wanting one . Everyone says it's an SLO on steroids and I have one of those.

Well at least you have good taste (y)

I've had both. The M-Zero had a looseness to the higher gain that I could never dial out. Just like an SLO. That frustrated me. I'd have to pick the BE100 for that reason alone. The lower gain channel of the M-Zero was really good.

They are 2 completely different animals, or beasts.i own a be deluxe and theres a mzero in my basement too thats the other guitar players..played it too...if money was no object I'd seriously own both...since you know what the BE 100 does, you'll have to ask yourself if you want one of the greatest takes on marshall tones with 3 channels plus boosts, workable masters,or a very killer open, raw, loud, thick, nice sounding 2 ch amp with boosts, that has a slo vibe, but goes beyond that especially in ch 2 blistering high gain beast...for me,both are top notch and have thier places...the masters are way different on these amps, that's for sure...if you're wanting to avoid the a/b ,compare talk,it's a bit tougher to relay some things.
Since they're both sitting in my basement,I can give u a ton of a/b stuff but otherwise I'd say they're really not much alike.( which means I'd have to own both lol)

I had the Mezzabarba Trinity, not sure the comparison between it and the M-Zero but will agree with you on the "looseness". I could never dial in a tight low end sound on it, even with an eq in the front or the loop or with a boost.

Lead tone, fantastic but rhythm I could never get it to tighten up to my style, it had this round low end hump for lack of a better term, just couldn't get it tight.

Incredible build on that amp though, it was a work of art. Btw/ I owned an SLO years ago and did not have this issue, so who knows.

You sound like me ! I may have to own both !! M just afraid of the mezzabarba being a duplication of my SLO which would be stupid. Of course which is dumber that or six different brads all sounding like all things Marshall????

Spot on.

I forgot about the boost. But I tried one also and had the same results.

Yeah I don't know between those two. @Bad.Seed likes the Mezzabarba stuff. Friedman are great amps but I just don't dig them. It's a matter of preference but they are a little too polite and perfect.

But it's apples to oranges. Think of a Friedman has a hot rodded Marshall and the mezzabarba as a hot rodded slo(or so ive been told). IMHO there are other options that you should consider for the prices each of those go for.

So, you know the Friedman sound.

The Mezzabarba is based on the SLO, but I find it to have a much bigger low end, and a pissed off Marshall mid range. Plus, with the negative feedback control, you can dial it to be smoother like an SLO (but still more mids and lows) or really bright and crunchy like a Marshall.

I have the SLO and the MZero as well as the trinity. The MZero will definitely be different than the SLO, and enough so to warrant having both, imo

It's become one of my favorite amps, an I personally don't have issues making the low end big and punchy with the right cab and overdrive. It's not as tight as a 5150iii, but Im picky about low end and I love it for my uses
