If you were in a Cover Band and needed to cover everything from 70’s to modern rock, pop, etc.

Friedman Small Box 50
Synergy Syn 2 with two modules
Save or wait for a used BE-50 Deluxe

Synergy. With the exception of the JJ, Firendman amps don't do much for me.

... And when you get tired of that module, you can switch it out :)

Smallbox is an awesome amp... never played a Synergy, and the BE-50 seems like its the shit, so seeing one used would probably take some time ;) Have you ever considered the Dirty Shirley? Could be a good fit for what your playing. Best of luck!

I would just use my Katana and save hundreds of $$

Gotta say my GAS is thoroughly extinguished at the notion of gear - sure, sure, a new Lester or ESP is "always" in the works - and there's always the "stuff" - docking stations for cables, routing boxes, cleaners, stomps...always stuff. But I will say - having RECENTLY acquired a re-loaded (essentially brand new) 412 cab with V30/G12Ms; a Butterslax; an Atma Combo; a JJ100; a new electro-acoustic (Godin Duet Steel); Focusrite Clarett 8Pre; looping station, rack gear, etc. there's only one piece of gear that's currently even remotely piquing my curiosity....

The Dirty Shirley.
100W format.
Custom build.

Want

do it! :D

If the two mods you would get from Synergy are BE and HBE, then I'd certainly wait for the BE-50 Deluxe....

Hundreds???

More like thousands lol.

That said, to the OP...go big or go home. Grab the BE 50. You only live once!
In 2015 I played an outdoor festival, and I bought 2 full stacks and ran in stereo...why? BECAUSE I COULD! Lol. Down the road I didn't want any regrets on living it up gear wise before I hung it up gigging.
:D

one of the best amps for that IMO is the Mesa Triple crown

Cleans go for country Twang, funk blues
Lo gain will do anything you need 70s to 90s
and the Hi gain is a thing of beauty .

amazing amp

I definitely would get the Morgan AC or TDLX (Fender Clean) for my first module. For my dirt channel, probably the Soldano. Off all the clips I have heard, it sounds the best to my ears.

I was in the Mesa camp for a long time. I had the Studio Preamp, Triaxis, Mark III, Mark IV, Mark V, and Electradyne. Mesa's sound great, but I have moved away from the lower mid (scooped) voicing.

I am currently using an FX8 with a Runt 20 and I also have a PWE Horizon.

BE 50 has my vote. Clean channel is supposed to be great and you know the dirty side is going to kick ass.

I totally agree with ya on the Mesa low mid voicing
But the crown is different it's more upper mid bite and EL34 based
Check some of the vids you'll be surprised I was when I tried one
It had all the Mesa elements I like but sounded different
