Hey guys need alittle help which power amp should i use? 2:90 or 2:100 im going to be using this in conjunction with another amp (marshall jcm 800(voodoo modded)diezel herbert, or voodoo witchdoctor not sure yet). I play heavy stuff ala Machine head, pantera, slipknot/ metal core type stuff tune down to drop b and drop a# Any help would be great. Dont know if this helps but the triaxis will be used for blended sounds, boosts for leads effects for cleans, Its a coloring type thing. Thanks again.

Hope this is enough Jim lol

I would use the 2:90. The Triaxis was built to go with that amp. I used one for a long time and play similar stuff to you and it was great.

I used the ria axis w/ 2:90 for about 8 years
I never tried the 100, but the 2:90 is supposedly designed for the triaxis
I was able to get the same tone as the dual rectifier I used to have, using the extra switches on the 2:90
"modern" I believe

2;90

i believe there is a mint latest version for sale in the classifieds somewhere.

i would have bought it but i already got one!

Thanks ill take a look at the classified section then. Thanks alot guys.

Do you know if there is a big difference between the old 2:90 and the new one? I got someone selling one for 675 around here and ebay theres a couple in the 600-700 buck range but all old models.

I've owned an older and a new 2:90 before, and I don't recall there being any sonic difference in the two at least.

That said, my favorite tones with the Triaxis were actually running into the power section of my Recto on the Red/Modern mode. Since the 2:100 is supposed to be the Rectos power section, if I got another rack setup, I'd probably go with a 2:100. YMMV.

well i have a recto how did you wire it up exactly i would love to try that.

Just run the Triaxis into the return on the FX Loop. You'll have the "Output" knob to use as your master, and you can use either power section of the Recto. Using it on Modern Red can really help put some balls in the Triaxis.
