Hi Dave,

which volume pedal would you recommend to be used in the BE100 loop, to have no tone suck?
Would a Boss FV500L do fine or would I need a buffered pedal, like the Hilton?

Many thanks for your advise.

Vertex are modifying the FV 500s, I think they put a buffer in. However, as the BE100s loop is tube buffered and the 500L is low impedance, I would hope it would not suck any (much) tone. The Visualsound Volume pedal would be another active contender, but it doesn't have a minimum volume poti like the boss.

I guess I didn't know what you were trying to accomplish with a vol pedal, I was assuming you wanted to push the amp but squash the volume? What are you looking to get with the vol pedal? I'm on a waiting list for a Friedman and was under the impression the loop vol worked like a Splawn where you can push the amp hard and bring the vol down to even bellow bedroom volume?

Swells and pulling back when it's too loud would mainly be the usages.

Ernie Ball Volume Jr 25k version

But it has no minimum volume, which is kinda annoying, nice to have a poti on the side for that.

I just took the plunge and got myself a Visual Sound Volume, and it works great in the loop in active mode. Zero tone loss, great swells, easy to do rhythm and lead volume due to the LEDs and the feel of the pedal. Winning on all levels.
