Which Wah?

I've been using the Zakk Wylde Dunlop Wah, and it has been my favorite wah for years now. It also has a screw in the back that will set the throw of the footswitch, which is cool if there's a certain position you like, it makes it easier than stacking quarters underneath it. I may have to look into modding it to turn on/off when stepped on...I never liked how hard the switch is...

I've had tons of wahs. The two I liked most was the EVH & Tremonti. Also the George Lynch Dragon wah was pretty kool. I think someone already said that though. But gonna go w/ a Cantrell wah soon as well.

Wilson 6 position rippah...fantastic and a great guy to deal with. Switched from Cantrell to this.

Well I just grabbed the Cantrell Wah and gotta say I really dig it...playing with my modded XTC (Hilligan Snorkeler mod) MTS with Goldtop LP (Afwayu pickups) was sheer pleasure...

anyone own a vertex wah i own the cae and i would love to try the vertex nos wah.

i just checked it out...so basically the idea is the vertex wahs are relabeled bbe wahs?

I really like the regular Dunlops and especially the Cantrell. It has a good sweep on it. But, I usually end up with the Morley Tremonti on the pedal board. Like an accelerator pedal, step and release. Tone wise, it isn't near that of a Dunlop, but, I sometimes have a problem disengaging the Dunlop while playing. I wish Dunlop would design a pedal with their guts and tone and put it in a pedal design like that of the Morley.
Dunlop does (sort of), its called the SP031 535Q Auto Return. I special ordered one direct through Dunlop a few months ago and am really digging it. I started with a Bad Horsie decades ago and became used to the auto on/return feature as well as the sweep. I've come to learn that I now need the spring back or auto return feature to keep constant pressure on the ball of my foot. If not, my sweeps are irregular and don't sound good. I've always preferred the tone of the 535's. This new pedal is the best of both worlds.

Edit: Just saw the previous post in the thread about having Dunlop pedals modified to be switchless. Dunlop actually has these autoreturn/switchless 535Q's prebuilt in stock for $129.99, you'll get it in a few days. It's the best deal in wahs!

Dunlop also now has the Dime wah in switchless auto return as a standard item. PGS is using the wrong stock photo that still shows the switch but if you read the text it's a switchless auto return.

I've owned every wah Dunlop makes aide from the new Clyde, Buddy Guy and Bonamassa and aside from the GCB95s I mod my favorite has actually become the EVH. The last person I'd associate with wah has the best sounding wah, go figure. Yet the Slash wah (a guy known for wah use) is my least favorite wah of any wah I've used from any brand.

The EVH does sound good. Never sounds thin to me.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but what is the best sounding switchless wah?

Dunlop 535q
this thread is old but since i last posted i got a switchless 535q and i love it.

Been using a Clyde Deluxe for several years. Never yearned for anything else.

Probably will buy a Cantrell as I've demo'd it and it sounds different and feels different - different tools for different tones.

Wvr...

I've been using a Clyde Deluxe on and off for years... I purchased a Teese RMC10 back in March of this year, and it's by far the best sounding wah I've ever used. I loved my Ibanez Weeping Demon, but it broke after only 3 months of use! I miss its spring loaded option with instant on/off. I hate having to press down on the front of a wah to turn it on.
