A buddy of mine wants some info on them. I've never played one so I can't help. Can any of you give a review or even a clip?

Had a M60 that was cool. Not the M90 though so im afraid I would be much help but if he wants to now about the 60 let me know.

PM Inca Roads - he's selling an M90 right now.

I'm not buying and I'm not completely sure if he already has one lined up. But I'll let him know. I think he's just trying to learn a little more about them and if I can get him some info that would be cool.

I had an M90. Nice high gain with alot of grind and compression to it. Average cleans and boosted cleans. 3600 new is way too much money for it. I would not pay more than 2200 for one after having owned it. The guy I traded it to, rjmmusic -here on this board, loves it though and thinks it's worth it.

I found it to have a very distinctive voicing, the kind of thing you really dig, or don't. I didn't.

I have always wanted to try an m60, that always sounded more up my alley based on the clips I've heard.

I have owned 2 of the 60's , a 90 , and the 3100

Let's start with the 90 compared to the 60 ...

The 90 is more modern in it's aggressive voicing , although they are similar the KT88's give it a faster attack and more low end than the 60. I think the 90 has a different power section which does change the feel and response also.

The 60 has a more of that EL34 mid vibe that is slightly more on the snarl side and not as modern as the 90 , but still not a Marshall by any means .

There are some cool clips on youtube you can check out.

I would agree with Simbasa to their build quality seems somewhat ? for the price they go for , but They certainly have their own voice . Buy used if at all possible !

I really liked the Elmwoods when i first got them , but like a new girlfriend after some time playing with them their new tricks and voice got rather old and tired
:D

Whats different about the M60?
El34s instead of KT88s and it sounds not so compressed as the M90. More like a good Marshall on steroids.

Also, I did play the 3100 model which is no longer made and the M60 is based off of it. Better, chimy-er cleans and boosted cleans than the M90 and more of the british crunch to it. The thing I did not care for is that the M90 did not have that 'wall of sound' to it. Not much 'oommph' to it compared to other amps. 2 KT88s rated at 90 watts or 2 El34s rated at 60. I like my rock and metal tones to sound huge like my Nitro does or the Soldano Avenger or the Diezel Einstein I had and I could not get the same feel from the M90.
