Who says EMG's sound bad?!?!?!  Not trying to highjack. ;)

Great tone there. Love my EMG's.

Steve uses the EMG 85/SLV/SLV set-up which sounds great. The SLV is an alnico strat voiced single coil that matches the output level of the 85. I'm thinking about putting a strat together with that set-up in it.

I love my EMGs too man! Try a 85 / S / SLV setup. That's my favorite! That S blends REALLY well with the 85 and the SLV.

Eric
Thanks, great to know.

That video is from the Falling In Between Live Disc. And yes, it is available on iTunes. It's a great disc, as is their Live From Amsterdam disc. I have been a huge Toto fan for years. They are all killer musicians, but to beat you over the head with it like other bands of their musicianship.

HOLY CRAP...its a sign from ABOVE :scared:

My post above with the White Sister clip was entered at 4:20 on 4/20

Not knowing if it meant I was supposed to start smoking weed again, instead I just went and dialed up the killer Luke patch on the AxeFx and wailed in honor of chorused out 80's Luke studio tone and memories of a 4 foot Graffix that is long since gone.

i'd like to hang out with luke for a weekend. aside from showing me some things on the guitar, i be he has some great stories to tell

i have the amsterdam dvd and this paris tone just seems way cooler to me. very tasteful use of effects and core tone shines through.

the original rosanna tone was very sassy as well. wasn't that a dumble?

OOF!! i said the naughty gear page word!!! :salute:

The ride out solo on the album version of Rosanna is the one of the best ride out solo's ever. Second only to 'Round And Round' which is my fav.
My personal favorite would be Larry Carlton's solo on the end of Kid Charlemagne by Steely Dan.

That's a good one too.

I always thought he was playing Marshalls at that time, probably bradshaw modded.

I thought back then he was using those refrigerator sized racks with Mesa gear?

Doesn't look like Mesa/Dumble gear to my watering eyes.

I like Toto plenty and Luke, although I was a late convert.

This is probably my favorite version of Rosanna, even with the "gay" vocalist. The groove from Jeff Porcaro has never been copied and I really like Luke's old tone with the Valley Arts Robot guitar.

Love Toto! Lukather is awesome. Turned me on to EMG's back in the 80's and then to the CAE preamp after Kingdom of Desire which eventually turned me onto the Suhr OD100se+.
Lukather is one of my all time fav's...just killer!

I believe the original Rosanna tone was a either a Rivera Modded Marshall or fender. I know hold the line was the Rivera Modded Fender!

Luke is one of my favorite guitar players from back in the day. I remember when that Rosanna solo came out and it immediately made him the man back in the day lol!! Every guitarist was buzzing about him and that ooutro solo at the time.
