Correct. I guess it wasn't that hard since Yngwie had a LOT to say about everyone when he was younger.

Michael Schenker. Just kidding. Already have a winner. Neil Schon from the days when the VH guys hated all the Journey guys (at least in my school). I think the feud was settled when VH teamed up with Sammy Hagar after Neil had already done the H.S.A.S thing. Wonder if Sammy was on a secret mission from Neil to make VH as lame as Journey?

Call me Crazy but Ill take the Journey Catalog over the VH catalog any day. Dont get me wrong, I have never worshipped a player like I have with EVH and he is the reason that I picked up a guitar. Ive seen VH more times than Journey( 53 Vs 41) but as great as the Mighty VH used to be, Journey was about as far from lame as you could get and Schon is light years ahead of EVH when it comes to being well rounded IMO...

I just figured - who else would Ed have been scared to cut heads with in 1985?

I'll have'ta call ya crazy then, bro!

The first 4 VH albums > the entire Journey catalogue...

And I LOVE Journey! Not lame or wimpy at all, its just not up to the bar of the early VH stuff IMO. For me, I kinda need the aggression and innovation of the Mighty VH...

Gotta love Wingway....

If I had to jam with someone who was going to play the same 45 seconds worth of blistering neo-classical licks for 2 hours straight, I'd run too. Oh... the monotony....

LOL! I remember finishing up a set at Woodstock, going outside and hearing some blistering licks next door at Radio City. I asked somebody who it was and they said it was "ying yang" (or maybe it was "wing wing"...) from Steeler. :D I used to crack up at the unintentional butchering of his name.

Guilty as well.....when we first heard of him we had no clue how to say his first name.

I believe after a 12 pack we settled for Ying Wee.

Great picture!
I couldn't do the man-perm thing.... I think his hair was a little less huge during the Steve Perry era.

I don't think it was a perm. He has pretty curly hair.

"eddie's playing is mostly smoke and mirrors. you want to see a guy who can really play and play good...watch george lynch of dokken. he's an amazing player."

-who said it?

So who said this? I actually remember the quote, but don't remember who it was.

George Lynch, referring to himself in the third person.

Actually I believe it was George's mom, Buella Lynch. She was a big supporter of George's and I understand, quite the shredder herself... She was really pissed when some asshole came up to him after a show in San Juan Cap complaining about his tone...
