Actually I believe it was George's mom, Buella Lynch. She was a big supporter of George's and I understand, quite the shredder herself... She was really pissed when some asshole came up to him after a show in San Juan Cap complaining about his tone...

I think you're oversimplifying the issue. There's a lot more going on that than.

Call me Crazy but Ill take the Journey Catalog over the VH catalog any day. Dont get me wrong, I have never worshipped a player like I have with EVH and he is the reason that I picked up a guitar. Ive seen VH more times than Journey( 53 Vs 41) but as great as the Mighty VH used to be, Journey was about as far from lame as you could get and Schon is light years ahead of EVH when it comes to being well rounded IMO...

I'll have'ta call ya crazy then, bro!

The first 4 VH albums > the entire Journey catalogue...

And I LOVE Journey! Not lame or wimpy at all, its just not up to the bar of the early VH stuff IMO. For me, I kinda need the aggression and innovation of the Mighty VH...

Different styles is all, its apples and oranges really. However, Ill happily take the entire journey catalog and Ill give ya the first 4 VH as good as they are.

When you say its not up to the bar, can you be more specific?

Prolly... I hear the guy waited around for quite some time after the show just to hassle George about his tone. Legend has it that George was really pissed, went into a roid rage and attacked the guy. Unfortunately, it turns out this dude was an expert in some form of brazilian jui jitsu and he tossed George over his shoulder onto the floor, knocking the wind and fight out of him. After the guy helped him up, George apologized and gave him his original Bengal Charvel as a peace offering...

Thats what I heard anyway...
