Who uses a one channel amp live?

I've been toying with the idea of really stripping things down and using a one channel amp live. Simplicity really appeals to me, as does using the guitar volume for different tones. Also, I do backup vox with my band and I hate stepping on pedals. I have 4 channels on my Egnater Mod 50 and I sometimes hit the wrong channel. Plus, I never need a pristine clean sound.

Here.
JTM45 and a couple boosts, delay and wah.
I never touch the controls. I set it about ten years ago and all I change is the volume for different gigs.
Amps have sweet spots.

I use a Triple Rec once in a while with three channels but I have them set as well. I wouldn't dare touch the controls on that amp. One little turn and your tone changes!

I gigged for a long while with a Marshall 2550. Only used the lead channel. Worked just fine.

I dont use a one channel amp but I only use one channel...mark iv

Yep Cali mod. I've got treble bleed caps put in my custom which helps it clean up quick with slight volume roll off. I think mastering guitar volume brings a whole new world, and offers dynamics you cannot get otherwise

Yep, Modded 800 - use a Paul Gilbert Detox for my clean/break up tones, have push pull pots on my LP and treble bleeds.

yep Friedman Pink Taco with a detox EQ as above for cleaner bits, sounds killer and super simple

Besides having a 100b, CCV and TOL 100 (sold it recently) I had lots of fun with my Hot Rod 50, Tube Screamer and Les Paul R8. It was so great, I plan doing few next shows like that. However, It was a w/d/w rig.

detox is an awesome pedal. I like them so much I have 2.

One of the amps I use most live is a Ceriatone Yeti. Most of the time I just have a tuner and volume pedal. That's it. No FX. I find it liberating. Plus it makes setting up a breeze :D

Guitar - cable - Ceriatone Expression. From srceam to clean using only the guitar. Use your volume and tone knobs on the guitar. It really is nice not to have to step on any pedals. Really makes you concentrate on playing and the nuances in your guitars controls and your fingers. I find it refreshing and liberating, but it's not for everybody.

I run my 900 on the Lead channel and just use that. Perfect for rhythm/lead, rolling the volume for a clean tone cleans it up passably... Less is more. :)

I have and sometimes do just set a good solo tone and then ride the guitar's volume knob.

Currently using a peavey classic 30 live and not using the gain channel. Nice portable little rig. Some excellent dirt boxes out there now that work well into a clean amp. I live to stack overdrives as well....

yep. 1959 slp. Attenuated, most of the dirt coming from pedals. Yummy.

I have a BE-100 but don't use the clean channel, just plug into the "L" (aka BE) input and crank it up. It cleans up so well that I have an amazing clean sound right there under my volume knob. And all shades of dirty in between.

I do use pedals but it's so much better not having to switch channels while playing. I'm also the lead singer (not by choice) and find it so much better not having to worry about channel switching while singing. Makes for a much better overall performance.

Surely you guys have something running in the loop or do you put your delays out front? I'd love not to have more cables going back to a loop but alas 800's are pretty messy sounding with delays out front. Never tried a carbon copy though.

delays in front, after the dirt. Works like a champ! I bought a 4 in\4 out junction box and ran everything into two basic sides...stuff that normally would go in the loop and gain devices I would put in front of the amp. If I play my single channel amp out live I jumper the 2 sides running the delays after dirt into the front. If I take my shiva out or another amp with a loop I take the jumper out and run 2 cables back to the loop.
