I have a GE7 and Delay in the loop of my 800 - Delay in the front of the amp, just sounds wrong (for me)

Surely you guys have something running in the loop or do you put your delays out front? I'd love not to have more cables going back to a loop but alas 800's are pretty messy sounding with delays out front. Never tried a carbon copy though.

nah ... all in front, including the delay ...

I dont use a one channel amp but I only use one channel...mark iv

This almost 100%. I actually tend to use my clean channel as a mute switch lol!

I too have subscribed to the single channel philosophy and I am very happy with it.........Small venues: Mesa DC 5 Combo/ Bogner Shiva 1x12/ Clean channel with some dirt on the floor.....
Large venues: Fender Bassman/Marshall 1960B / dirt on the floor.....
My other amps don't get out much anymore.....

As long as the amp is running clean or nearly clean, than delays out front work great for me. I just put them after the dirt boxes. I was using the classic 30's effects loop for the delay, but I got intermittent noise issues. :(

When I have to use rented backline on the road, it's often a beat-to-shit Fender Deville or similar. Half of the time, the dirt channel is crap, so I'll use the clean channel with a Line 6 Distortion Modeler.

Carbon copy in the loop, but on saturday night i actually turned it off for leads as it just didn't need it, i also run a line boost for added solo volume

Here.
JTM45 and a couple boosts, delay and wah.
I never touch the controls. I set it about ten years ago and all I change is the volume for different gigs.
Amps have sweet spots.

I use a Triple Rec once in a while with three channels but I have them set as well. I wouldn't dare touch the controls on that amp. One little turn and your tone changes!
Man you are not kidding! I love my Tremoverb but the only knob I touch during a gig is the Loop Active Master; maybe the Master for each channel. Anything on the gain or tone controls; forget about it :)

I do. My 2210 has two channels but just use the gain channel live(the clean channel isn't really that bad but it's one less switch on my pedalboard). Have a MXR 401 boost in the loop for solo boost.

I use a splawn super comp mini live in a cover band . I use guitar volume/pickups for different tones

I gigged for a long while with a Marshall 2550. Only used the lead channel. Worked just fine.
This. My Jubilee and the lead channel. I never need a really clean clean, so I turn the boost pedal off and dial back the guitar volume, works great. Always get compliments on the tone...

Tried multi channel amps many times….always ended up just using one of the channels for 99% of the tones.

Started off with a '69 Marshall and used it (along with various others) with a few pedals. Hated delay in front and still do except for the Digidelay, some reason it works ok.

Then went to a 5150…used the normal gain input on the Red channel. FX in loop

Then went to a VHT UL…..used Channel 2 toggling the boost, od pedal and gtr volume controls for everything. FX in loop

Then went to a custom Wizard Metal/ MC…..just use the lead channel for everything. FX in loop

Don't play in bands anymore, but most likely if I did, would do the same thing.
