I’m not sure there’s much better, modern style rock guitar tone than on Futures and Bleed American. Perfect blend of chunk, growl and clarity.
They lose me on the more sensitive ballads but when they get the guitars going I love it.

Same. They do the "modern rock" style thing without it boring too slick, boring, or anodyne.

The harmony riff break on "get it faster" might be the greatest tone of that style ever recorded

What really sells it too, is the immaculate mix of the rhythm section. The sound is just big without being loudness wars overbearing.

I always wanted to start an all Latino Dio tribute band and call it Dio's Meo.

Dio…”dynamite comes in small packages”..
Dio was AMAZING -a true frontman who wrote such rad heavy metal lyrics.. just the epiphany of metal..
He had the look also..that evil seedy’ flavor of the vibe.
The lyrics in Rainbow In The Dark are so f’n dope man.
That riff inspired me to pick up the guitar actually..that up pick after the tasty palm muties’

I'm starting a Jimmy Eat World tribute band. Fans of that band are now adult/parent age and looking for stuff to do on weekends.

I'm going to call it Jimmy John's Eat World and we just fire sandwiches into the crowd during the songs.
