Who would you trust for a Nitro refin with a sentimental guitar?

I have a 93 PRS CU24 that was passed down to me when my uncle passed away. Around 2 years ago I had it refinished by someone local & highly recommended. I previously made a post about it so to summarize; it was terrible. The guitar is absolutely butchered. I haven't played the guitar more than a handful of times because it really bums me out I was initially very hesitant to ship it out and potentially lose it or have it break in shipping, but I simply need this guitar to be set right so I can feel good about playing it.

Who is the best shop to send a guitar to currently? I don't want anyone with a slightly checkered past. Who have you guys had personal experience with that will blow away expectations? US Based.

I'm leaning towards MJT, but I'd really like to hear it from you guys. Somebody I could trust with a guitar that means the world to me.

Not what you are asking, but i had a similar situation.
I got my neck refinished with a nitro, and jesus..transitions trash and they scratched my guitar...

When i was talking to guy about it, he asked fucking me how he could do the headstock. He was asking me how the abalone was set, like i am some kind of guitar builder.

Lesson learned

Want it done right, doit yourself.. Nitro comes right off with thinner. It takes like a month to dry because it continues to shrink.
If you send it out, don't expect to get it back for a few months I'd bet..

If you aren't worried about cost and want it restored or set up to factory specs, PRS PTC team can do it.

The guitar is so heavily modified that I doubt they'd take it in, I sanded down the neck and reprofiled it thinner. I put an Evertune into it. I plan on reprofiling the fretboard to 16" and putting Stainless Steel ball end frets into it before refinishing it.. When I emailed them years ago about some repairs/alterations. They wouldn't do stainless steel frets and they wouldn't refinish in any color that wasn't factory for this model in this specific year. That was probably a decade ago, maybe they'd be more open to it now.

I can do nitro touch up/blending for headstock repairs, but if I did a full guitar it would come out worse than it is now! :ROFLMAO:
