Someone who has played this fine amp tell me all about it please! I liked what I heard from the high gain shootout vids, but it wasn't enough! I'd really like to hear more well recorded clips of it.
Also I know its a touchy subject, but I'd love to hear how it sounds next to a Cameron CCV or even Dave's Cameron Marshall. :powpow: :jedi: :force:
Anyone played both?

Well, I won't compare it to others, since I think it's got it's own thing going on - which is why it rocks. It sounded amazing at the Amp Show. Just a great thick, harmonic and articulate vibe to it. It just has all the right voicing - kind of the best of different amps rolled into one. Hopefully Rob of Tone Merchants will do an in depth video.

I've had my 100w Plexi clone modded to the Marsha. I could live on the Custom 45 setting all day long, but the BE and HBE mods add that higher gain crunch with clarity I like for certain styles, while still cleaning up nicely when you roll off your guitar volume.

At the Amp Show the Marsha single handedly devastated player after player. One guy came back 3-4 times, and kept shaking his head more each time. Pretty sure he's going to get one with that look he had on his face. :D

And in the w/d/w configuration, it's "pretty much orgasmic", and I don't use that phrase real often.

Thanks guys. Sounds like a killer amp!
Someone do a good video demo already!!!!!!!

One of the best amps I've ever played! It's super organic, it retains the true Marshall character no matter how much or how little gain you're running. Very dynamic, and touch sensitive. A lot of other hot rodded Marshall's lose that natural Marshall vibe, but the Marsha never does. I think the closest amp I can compare it to is the Wizard Modern Classic....if you ever heard one of those. Doesn't sound anything like any of the Camerons I've heard.

I also have to add that the Marsha can be customized to anything you want tone-wise. Dave can voice it how you want, add saturation, add fatness, more open, etc.....whatever you need!

I just had my Friedman Brown Eye modded Marshall tweaked with a Fat switch, for a Fat Brown Eye....and also a lower gain switch, which makes it sound more like a giant 70's tone ala Zeppelin, Black Crowes and old Bowie type stuff. Freaking AMAZING! Thanks again Dave.

Not only did it sound great, but it felt great!

As mentioned, Dave can really make it whatever you need it to be

I've never played a Marsha, but I imagine it's equally as monstrous as the Cameron stuff just different. I currently own a Cameron HG Jose and I owned Friedman's Angry Hippie mod for a while. I know, different from the Marsha voicings, but in talking with Friedman about the Hippie and some of his other mods there seems to be some similar characteristics in "delivery" with his amps, if that makes sense. They're open and the sound seems to leap out of the cabinet. A very present (not referring to brightness) and real/organic amp. My Cameron sits back in the cabinet a little bit. They have that whole "compressed yet still dynamic" thing going on which is part of their thing. So yeah, it seems both builders/modders just jump from a different end of the pool, but deliver equal good results. You'd probably just have to play both to really decide which is to your liking.

Actually it seems for now only one of them are delivering the goods.

It's a rock monster. Dave installed a really cool new switch in mine that takes it into serious metal territory- It's addicting to play. I love the Brown Eye/Hairy Brown Eye tone, and with the new more "metal" sound available, it's got Marshall type rock tones completely covered. I mean, if ya cant find your rock tone in there, you should, I dunno, consider playing polka music instead.

I've played both. They are pretty different, the Cameron is hard and stiff and the Marsha is warmer and fuller with a more relaxed sag. The Marsha is ridiculous and sounds more organic and natural! I love the changes Dave made on it, I played it at the Amp Show and it just crushed. I think they are both great, the Marsha just suits the way I feel guitar.

Is Jerry using one live?
I hear he's using a Marsha and the Fish...

Sounds great... good song too!

I wonder if this "metal switch" is anything like his Black Eye mod?

I didn't play it but I spent about 30 minutes after the amp show with Dave listening to it. It's badass.

Im starting a heavy metal polka band... are ya in? :D

+100000000 on all of this! now,i had the cameron jose-hg that pyschodave now owns.i sold it to him.a GREAT amp.it really was.i just needed something a bit more versatile that i could get more tones out of.i have two friedman-modded amps(one w/kitchen-sink mod & one w/BE-HBE mods) and i love 'em both equally! ...as mentioned in earlier posts, dave friedman is quick to respond to e-mails and has a really good amp turnaround speed.so with all the options available to "tweak" your own custom tone,he's an EXCELLENT choice to go with!!!
