Since my tour is gonna be in LA next week for four days, I am going to go by and listen to some of Dave's amps. Can't wait. I will most likely send him either my Metro 50 watter or my 100 Watt JMP if I dig what I hear.

Then you'll kill two birds at once. He's got a 4x12 cab I made with four M75 Scumbacks in it you'll probably hear the amp through. Just bring your guitar if you need to, although he has a few there as well.

Sweet, I have wanted to check out one of your cabs so bonus for me! I have my #1 Les Paul Custom out here with me so I will bring it to the shop.

Jim-

Is that what was at the amp show? The uncovered cab?

I was searching the interweb for more Marsha clips or videos and stumbled upon the Metroamp forum. Southbay Ampworks said that Premier Guitar shot a video of Peter Thorn playing the Marsha through Scumbacks. I would like to see said video
Here's a sweet pic as well. I'm really gassing for this amp, especially now that there's a saturation swith! So many possibilities!

What's different about the one on the bottom with an extra knob?

Yeah. Dave wanted a non tolexed "peeled" cab which is how his other 71 straight cab is that he got from Steve Stills. The idea was to have two peeled cabs in the shop. The 71 has G12M's with 6402 cones, Dave's had it for years, and the 69 spec cab he has from me is loaded with the M75 65w speakers.

Premier Guitar came in to our demo room at the amp show around 5:15 pm on Saturday and did a sound check for db output, then videotaped Dave describing the Marsha, cab/speakers, and then he turned Pete loose on some riffs for demonstrating different settings/mods for PG.

Haven't seen it uploaded yet, and it's only 3-4 minutes...but it's pretty decent.

Pete's a blast to watch play. I didn't know he was a touring pro at the time, but complimented him on his playing at the amp show. Come to find out, he plays for a living... killer player! It's no wonder he gets good gigs.

The Marsha sounds killer, and having Pete play through it didn't hurt...

LOL! Yep, that's me. :D I kept going back just to listen to him play. His playing style is very appealing to my ears, as is his choice of tone and of course, his technique is smoking.

I would just go buy one... but wouldnt give up the loaner until I received mine

Kinda blew your chances of that now that you posted it online, buddy.
:D

The amp on the bottom of the picture was the one Jerry Cantrell had it has a very simple clean channel in it. It sounds good though. Clean even with Humbuckers. The only thing is it really is designed to just switch between the brown eye and the clean. As far as the Cantrell mix I am friends with the sound guy so that is how I know. Dave

If this new saturation switch makes it sound more metal, like a Cameron Jose, it's a winner.

On the James Lugo amps shootout, the Marsha sounded awesome, but for the drop tuning riffs at the end it wasn't enough metal for me.

If you got the best of both world

I am going to to Dave's shop tomorrow and hopefully I will be able to play an amp that has the "switch" on it. If I do, I will let you know how metal it really is.

Did you use the switch with the BE or HBE?
