Dave Gilmour's tone on any Floyd song except Learning to Fly. Especially the Comfortably Numb and Have a Cigar tones.
Dude he is seriously inspiring me.His chops, attention to tone and dynamics have me working on my rig and playing to the point where I have made a serious improvement. He has a high level of confidence too which I could use improvement in.tweed":ogeqwloy said:Right now for me, it's Joe Bonamassa. Just something about his playing and different tone flavors are very inspiring for me.

Holy shit. Definitely unexpected! I didn't know you listened to any of their stuff. Have you heard any Spiritual Beggars by chance?

LOL!
Yeah I got some Arch Enemy and while the vocals take a bit of getting used to, I really like the guitar work. It's good stuff.
I'm also digging Soilwork quite a bit.
I haven't. I heard that band mentioned, but I haven't checked them out. Maybe I'll go do that now...![]()

Arch Enemy and Soilwork!? You're really surprising me here.![]()
I'm hoping that you've heard the older albums by both of those bands, the guitarwork is way better than in the more recent stuff. Stigmata and Burning Bridges for AE and Steelbath Suicide, A Predator's Portrait, and Chainheart Machine for Soilwork.
Here's a Beggars video by the way - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSNMYNpxXIo
And also check out Chris' solo project, Armageddon - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o29C2truk6Q

Here's a video with all of the guitar solos from Stigmata - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIogjPvArpI

Yup.. That's what I like about Soilwork. Just when I get tired of the pummelling, the play something melodic...That's what keeps me listening.
I'll have to check it out... I still can't believe that voice comes out of a chick... LOL!
LOL!Alot of those solos so remind me of Andy LaRocque's solos King Diamond...

That's not a bad thing because I love alot of the guitar work on those old King Diamond albums...![]()
