Right now for me, it's Joe Bonamassa. Just something about his playing and different tone flavors are very inspiring for me.

Guitar players and tones are just a small part of what i like to hear. I need to hear good songs and solid bands. I tried listening to some Yngwie the other day and pulled out the CD after 2 songs, threw in an AC/DC disc, and listened to the whole thing.

I've been on a "clean+effects" kick lately: Minus the Bear/Russian Circles/Maserati

This Will Destroy You did that to me during all of '08.

Now, I'm playing this Egnater COD module, and it's making me listen to Shawn Lane.

Ever listen to an Yngwie song and think....i wonder what in the world he's going to play for this next solo?

At the moment probably Andy Timmons, I've been trying to learn some of his tunes, but I don't have as much time to learn the harder parts due to time constraints, looping the same lick over and over kills a shitload of time

Tim Pierce, Ritchie Kotzen, David Grissom.

Good choices, TPs Guitarland is in my weekly listening routine.

Tonewise, the last weeks or so I´ve been on a Grissom-kick, lotsa Storyville, the odd Joe Ely stuff, some Mellencamp. Another one is Allen Hinds, his new album is stellar.

What are you using to do this and does it slow it down too?

I've been using a program someone recommended, I think it's called Transcriber. You can set a section to loop and do 25%, 50%, or regular speed. Works REALLY well, I've figured out half of the tune "Resolution" minus all the crazy parts, I probably need a weekend to tackle the rest of the song since I kind of suck at this. :D But if I can do it, anyone else can

EDIT: oops its called Transcribe, heres a link.

They hung out at my parents' house while I worked on their amps.

Now, I'm interested in an HD-130 musicman.
