Why all the Blackstar hate?

I have an artisan 100 that is a great amp, very flexible and is extremely well built. Don't know about the other lines.

I believe it's all import made stuff.
Which means what?

A lot of guys feel it reflects on the reliability, but I don't necessarily feel that way if the company has good QC in place. My biggest is gripe with companies going the cheap labor route and still pricing the stuff at the same level of their competitor's products made in USA, made in England, etc. I believe Blackstar's higher end stuff is made in Korea, while they do use China for most of their stuff. I haven't heard of any reliability problems with Blackstar though.

Bet if it was named WHITE-star it wouldn't get the hate and bashing from everyone.
Read that Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson are filing law suits on this.

I think in this case, RJF is just so high and mighty with his high end equipment list in his signature, that it just isn't good enough for him. I think he'd be better suited having his nose in the air at TGP, where they really bash Blackstar. Personally, the HT-5 I have, is excellent build quality, and Korea. They're actually built better than the last 2 UK-made Marshalls I've owned. I also just sold a Korean made Schecter, that was on par with Japanese made Ibanez Prestige. I got a good deal on a Blackstar HT Club 50, and I'm comfortable with that decision.

I got a few buds that have them and love them. I havent had a chance to plug and play one yet. But I trust their ears. ;)

I saw DevilDriver live a few years back and both guitarists were rocking the Series One 1046L6 heads and their tone was great. I've not had a chance to play one myself, but I would like to.

  Nice. Trolling for a fight I see? Not noticeable at all...

Dude, re read what I said. I simply mentioned that I thought Blackstar is an import brand.

If you are looking for a fight, go jump on this "TGP" site you you are referring to, I'm sure you'll find someone game to take the bait. Or a better idea....go jam on your guitar through the gear you like.

Not looking for a fight at all. Just calling it like I see it. You sure seem to make alot of posts, and bragging about your holy grail list of amps, and money you spend. I find it silly to take up half a page in two posts to list a gazillion amps, as if to say "look at me, I'm better than most of you". And my guess is, you're one of those who posts clips and say "please excuse the sloppy playing".

  My last thread was about tubes and swapping around tubes with different amps. Talking about tubes, tube amps, and different changes different things make is what we do here at RT.  If you don't like topics about top end gear, I would suggest a forum like Ultimate Guitar. (I'm being serious not snotty). There are a lot more topics over there about middle ground type gear and what not.

Never played one personally but whichever model Gus G. uses sounds pretty damn good. Anybody know which one that is by chance? Does he have a sig model?

Your last thread was, "hey look at me, I spent $400 on tubes for my expensive amp collection". "In case you don't see my lengthy list of precious amps in my sig, let me itemize which amps I spent $400 on tubes for". This thread had nothing to do with high end vs. "middle-ground", as you're so kind to label. Seriously, you really would fit in at TGP. In fact, you qualify to moderate over there.

When I compared the HT-40 combo, HT-60 Stage and Solo combo's and finally the HT-100 head on a 4x12, I liked the HT-40 the most, but the functionality of the 2 HT-60's. Didn't care for the HT-100 at all though.
Then later I thought -before I got my EVH 50W-, maybe the HT-50 Club head is nice? Played it twice; once in Europe and once at Sam Ash in Hollywood and both on 2x12's and 4x12's, it did NOT have the body/girth I was expecting a 50W EL34 amp to have.
So I passed on it.

And after reading how the preamps of the smaller ones are hardly tube-based (ánd getting rid of my H&K Tubemeister 18), I'm happy with my Ironball and Mark V:25.

You do come off like your looking for a fight. You start a thread about Blackstar hate out of the blue, when there was no recent Blackstar bashing here, then you bag on guys because they have a lot of nice gear? WTF? If no one talked about their gear there would be no forum. Isn't that kinda the point? Or should we only discuss mid level gear we bought on sale for a great price as not to offend anyone who does not have the means to own anything else?

I suppose it does, to some extent. I guess I should have pointed out, that the hate wasn't specifically generated at this forum. It's primarily been elsewhere. And, it's not like people who don't like the amp say "I didn't care for it", they generally said very negative things, bashing to no end. I was looking for general experiences and opinions, primarily.

Your never going to find something as subjective as an amp something everyone can agree on. Google an amp, any amp. Your going to find people praising it and people bashing it no matter who built it, wheres its made or how much it costs.

Ahhhhhh, now I understand. I am so insensitive! You must have gotten into a pissing match with someone on another forum about Blackstar and they tore the brand down hard, right in front of you. You then came to RT looking to lash out at someone, because...you've been hurt before... there there. :gay:

Seriously, you can interpret my thread however you'd like. Myself, and the others that participated in it were just talking about different sets of tubes in different amps, and yes my tubes in my amps. It was my thread after all. I wouldn't be interested in retubing something that I don't own, obviously. Jealousy is an ugly thing and warps peoples perspective.

Yourself, and many other americans, need to spend more time being thankful for what THEY THEMSELVES have, rather than being more interested in trying to tear other people down because they might have a bit more. Since it's the season to be thankful for what we have, In all sincerity, happy Thanksgiving.

You make an interesting remark here. Since I didn't say a single thing negative about the brand, just simply that it was my understanding that they were made elsewhere. And for the record, I have no opinion on Blackstar. I have never played one, discussed them, or have even seen one in person. I am..completely neutral with no opinion about the brand.
