Why are Fuzz Faces so awkward?

I have no issue with the sound. It does what it's supposed to.

But why are there so many things wrong with it?

The In and Out jack slots are the wrong way around. It only operates on batteries. It's massive for no apparent reason. From what I can gather the rear plate has to screwed on a specific way...

Is there something I am missing, or is it the worst designed pedal ever? And why the big price?

Use a different Fuzz if you dont like it. You dont have to use what everyone else uses.

True. But I already own the Dallas, and it's cool for recording.

But I am looking into some that are far more convenient.
