I played a gig recently and I had to use a provided amp. It was a new AC-30. These are simple amps. I spent maybe 10 minutes (a LONG time) trying to dial in a decent CLEAN sound so I could just use my pedalboard. My singer looks at me and says "I hate that amp, sounds terrible man. Thin and no low end" Yup.

I just got my Axe fx Ultra Friday, I can't stop playing this thing. I have it set up with (2) Samson RESOLV 65a powered monitors that I had laying around and I got to say, it sounds pretty f'ing good. I got it to primarily play in my office so I don't have to lug all my stuff out to the garage to play.

All my amps are in a 20x25 garage that's separate from the house and it's a pain in the arse to lug all my guitars music books out there to play, jam etc...

So far I am really liking it.

So glad you're diggin' it man... They're amazingly versatile little boxes of goodness. I am still 100% absolutely blown away.

im afraid of getting one due to the amount of options, now too many options would distract my artistry....i'd love something simple like a direct Soldano made rack or box(in the lines of the AXEFX)...if it were a reality.
I gotsta say, my rack with the Mak4, Ultra, and 2/90/2 going into a 4x12 is all I need nowadays. I can use the Ultra as a standalone effects processor, I can loop my Mak4 into the Ultra for pre and post distortion effects, or I can use the Ultra on its own, or the Mak4 on its own. Not saying this is the best guitar rig anyone could and should ever want, but in my case, it's killin' it. My playing has doubled due to the fact I can get EVERYTHING out of this set up I could imagine - at all volume levels. So it goes... To each their own

I told you the Axe was cool and I thought you would like it. I am very happy it is working out for you. The Mak4 sounds intriguing as well. Between the two I am guessing you can coax about any tone your head hears. Congrats as getting to a point of happiness with your gear is a great thing.

You're right Tim... As above, very impressed and this along with my preamp and poweramp, goodness, I'm fully covered. And I GOTSTA say, pulling the Axe out of the chain and going naked with the Mak4 is just over-the-top hardcore br00tality!!!! That preamp is serious biz. Yes, I'm very excited about this rack I have...It's easy to work with, small and portable, and with the Fryette 4x12 Deliverance?? Sonic versatility and sonic heaven.

Hope all is well with you and yours Tim... You got my PM I trust

Peace,
V./Mo

actually I've been messing with my iPhone and peavey interface
maybe my future lies in an iPad or iPhone rig?

it'd be awesome if fractal built an interface and app for Mac that was a foot controller with a dock and cable interface, with a crate powerblock or better yet z vex iamp power section or a pair of EH .44 magnum power amp pedals
