Why do Fender put in Gibson-spaced PU's in their CS?

Makes no difference tonally from what I can tell...it really only seems to be a concession to the OCD crowd (and I'm not talking about a stompbox).

You could always change it out. My new Strat one has a couple of Dimarzio's that are non F-Spaced. I know that is not the point but for those that have an issue with that, there are options. I've noticed no sound difference.

It only matters if you want to look at the guitar, not play it.

There's a lot of those "players" out there!

I think Seymour Duncan states they make them in order to maintain volume balance on the high/low E strings and I like them to match the string spacing so my high E doesn't sound weak. the diff is not merely cosmetic in other words.. and I'm OCD

You don't look at your guitar when you play it? :poke:

my experience was the same as lespaul6. when alternate picking fast rhythms on the low E, with a Gibson-spaced JB in a Kramer with a Floyd, i had a slight volume difference between down-picked notes and up-picked ones, pushing the string over the pickup pole or away from it. it didn't happen when playing on the A string (so it wasn't my technique   ).

swapped it out for the Trembucker version, and problem solved. i'm OCD too. :D

I suppose we all know that the improper spacing was the reason for the slanted humbucker.
