Stratjacket and I were joking in another post and made me think about the different instruments in a band context and why us guitarists kick more ass.
Quick disclaimer, I play bass and drums and some singing as well. LOL.
So let's break it down here. We write the riffs and in a lot of situations are the "engine" of the band. Let's face it, drummers take 900 hours to setup and teardown their kit and are dumber than a box of rocks. Just hitting things.
Singers never help setup or teardown gear and talk to the fans after a gig right up to the point where the last mic stand is placed in the van. Then they say "oh are we packed up already?".
Bass players are the closest to us but they want us to carry the song. Plus their amps weigh as much as a 747 aircraft.
We have to learn solos, write great riffs, and learn stage tricks like flicking pics to the crowd, etc. Additionally, we have to connect with hot girls in the audience while trying to play.
The prosecution rests. Prove me wrong.
