Why isn't this kid in a Band in America yet?

Why here? He'd be MUCH better off in Europe, Japan, or South America. Face it guys, that stuff is dead here. But yes, it still doesn't stop me from trying to do it. But there's a much bigger market for metal or shred players else where in the world,.

Holy shit he's even better than Chubtone!

just checking to see if he's reading all the threads

Easy dude. Where did I ever say I was great or anything like that?

By the way he isn't better than me. I'm James Brown baby. I'm JAMES BROWN! :D

Sorry dude just taking out frustrations over your continual every couple month posts and threads about how lame and crappy this place is compared to what it used to be. You have been doing this almost the whole 3 years I have been a member here. I just don't understand your motivation for continually bringing this up...I mean I was not here then to know how much greater it was, which I do believe it was but it is what it is. I don't wanna tell you what to do but the way you sometimes word it, it comes off as arrogant and extremely negative. I just don't see the point, maybe just get over it cause you obviously still somewhat like the place and still post lots of helpful contributing posts as well as the rants. You don't seem to be capable of letting it go or do not want to.

You never said you were great, I am saying that after hearing your clips here. You are at the top of the heap here IME although I am pretty sure there are quite a few more awesome players here we have not heard clips of. If you were not such a good player it would be easier and less insulting to swallow your rants about how this place is filled with guys who can't play worth a shit. You might not always come right out and say that but reading between the lines that is what you mean. I would tend to agree on calling out those guys who push there gear views hard but cannot play worth a shit. I am a decent player at best despite playing off and on for 30 years   and I have posted quite a few clips here to give people an idea of what some amps sound like in the room and wish many more would do the same as long as they don't completely suck   You were even so nice as to tell me my triptik sounded very good. The playing was nothing special but not complete crap either.

I'm just being a sensitive guitar hobbyist and no disrespect intended in this or the last post.

Please stop being reasonable as that will not lead to any good flame wars. ;)

What can I say? I'm an old man. Everything was better in the old days.

I should have known these seemingly uncharacteristic rants were just pep rallies to incite more flame wars   I did suspect. I've said my peace and won't let it bother me anymore as in hindsight it was my insecurity that made me upset

I lasted ten seconds. :aww:
You've gotta play a song man.
And really, nobody cares about guitar playing without a singer .

This kid's channel is awesome:

Did not like this Stairway at all and I looked at the channel. Highway star also meh.

I guess it's the sound and overplaying that does nothing for me.

Perhaps, but then again, people generally have very poor taste. For instance, look how popular hip-hop is or that Obama was elected in the first place. To be honest with you, I could give a shit what most people think. Play for yourself and it will be good, and if people like it too, then you can cash in. Play for other people and you may get rich, but you won't get the kind of respect that people who play for themselves have. For instance, John Mayer may be rich, but he won't be remembered like Clapton or SRV.

Pretty fucking awesome. Would I choose to listen to that for hours on end? No, but in terms of technical ability - no questions there

I'm just glad that shred like this is not the bar by which all guitarist are judged, otherwise I'd have to switch to the pan flute or something.

Yeah. God forbid anyone might have their own subjective opinion about music.

I can't work out whether you're a satirical fictional character or not. It's almost like you go out of your way to say really misguided & unreasonable things.

Not a fan of the Stairway but did enjoy this one:

and his FTLOG too. \m/

Wow he has got some chops for sure. I think the average person have no idea the hours of practice it takes to get to that level, and think it is just a bunch of noise. It's like some guy up there with a big whiteboard solving some scary math equations, sure it's hard but not entertaining to most. And it doesn't even rhyme and you can't dance to it.

Ok. Do I really have to say it?

It was unmusical noise. That's a fact, not an opinion.

I do agree with much of what you said.

Your post was most certainly an opinion and not a fact. Actually the facts say otherwise.

Sounded pretty musical to me IMO. Very clean and harmonic passages. The guy was telling a story but you were illiterate to his advanced language skills.

You should go back and listen again but all of it and not :10.

Hahahaha! I just didn't understand.
That, as a matter of fact, is not musical in any language.
Have a nice day. ;)

Kid is mind-blowing and mind-numbing all at the same time.

I prefer to be comfortably numb though...

Meh... I listened to the whole thing. Kid's got advanced skills. But his "language" really isn't all that advanced. It won't speak to the majority of those who hear it. Now that he's (obviously) conquered any real technical hurdles/obstacles... may he apply himself to learning to say more with less. This comes from someone who used to worship Yngwie during the 80's and practiced his early stuff every day. I'm more into things that move me on a deeper level these days. Yeah... I'm gettin old!
