Why people hate Nickelback ?

they lack artistry. rammstein for example, they use the same verse chorus format for the most part but they have lyrics (not every song..BANG BANG! lol) that are meant to be art and not just something to dance to. but i can leave my brain at the door and enjoy certain artists/songs like that sometimes.

there records sound huge and, ive seen them a couple times, they sound near perfect live. whether you like what chad does with his voice he does it well. as a singer, i really hope i can sound that good live
 
Not a huge fan here, but the boys are smart, almost every tune is catchy, they're borderline between bad guys and good guys, they make a shitload of money, they probably never pay for the zillion gear they can get on stage or in the studio, they are always on tour around the world... Music is a business and they did understand it quickly. They probably are surrounded by a stellar team that handles marketing, exposure and other shit.

Even if I'm no fan, I can only be happy for them. When do you hear drama about them? Never. The guys are still together after all those years and they are still very much popular. To me, they win.

They kept it simple, writing catchy riffs and lyrics, and they are making a good living at it. It's only rock'n'roll, man. Clearly, Nickelback is close to the "ultimate arena rock band", who here never dreamed of playing in such a band?

Haters will hate anyways.

Pop with heavy guitars = melody and heavy guitars. Doesn't sound so bad to me.
 
I've never had a problem with them, I had picked up the album before silver side. They found a niche and made a ton of $ god bless em. They have some killer tones.

I listen to so many different bands from Aerosmith to lamb of god they are just one of them
 
I don't mind the MUSIC, but the lyrics are as CHEESY as CHEESY can get.

As such, I choose not to listen to them.

And I'm Canadian! :lol: :LOL:
 
I have no issues with NB. I own several of their albums. Their production is stellar and they have crushing guitar tones. Personally I really dig them. If you don't that's fine too.
 
I'll say that I've met Chad a couple times and he was very cool in spite of me being *wasted* one of the times and that was right after silver side up came out. I don't listen to them but they're great at what they do and I do find it funny that they get a lot of hate on a board that loves it's hair metal so much. They're not that different ;) If anything NB probably has better lyrics than most hair metal :D

I'd rather listen to classical music with no guitar for melodic content than the insipid melodies Nickleback cranks through their Triple Rectos.
 
Shit, I'll say it. I fucking hate them. I hate the music. The Lyrics. Everything. I don't care they have good production, I don't care they have careers and make bank. The argument that anyone would wish to be in their shoes with the acclaim and the money etc is hollow and bullshit. Would you want to be in Bieber's band for the same result? I admit they have ability and talent. The way they use it is an abomination to me ear drums. I guess I'm the crazy one who only listens to music because of how it makes me feel as an art form. No artist's accounting portfolio makes a damn difference to whether the art form is any good and why it gets brought up as a saving grace eludes me to no end. For those who said they like the music, that's the only reason you need. I never fantasize about being in another musicians shoes, my shoes are just fine.

Its subjective dude, handle it. Im not a fan of nickleback but after listening to the crap that you just posted, I think that Ill take them over pretty much everything that you linked... I couldnt find the interest or the soul in any of that if I tried...YUCK!!!

Ill alos take the chicks that are into NB and Bon Jovi over just about any girl into indie/alt fag rock but hey, knock yourself out
