I'm indifferent to NB. There are things they do that I can appreciate, but for the most part they've re-written the same songs over and over since 2001 and their lyrics are a bit misogynistic and sophmoric.
Sonically, I find them non-offensive and don't really give them any thought at all.

Although we did have a singer once who guaranteed that if we played "Figured You Out" that girls would go crazy and start flashing us. We played it at 2 shows and the only thing we saw were their asses walking out. Although one did flip us off so that's something.

This is probably why some of the haters hate. I'm not a fan but I too am indifferent and listen to some of their songs from time to time for their sound and not for their insightful lyrics. And if anyone thinks NB gets too much air time, try listening to 3 straight hours of pop radio and see if you don't change your mind after that!

I'd like to see a NB CD or DVD with separate vocal tracks: mainstream, and "meaningful." Maybe this should be a contest, take a Nickelback backing track and write/sing your own lyrics. Use those free text to speech programs if you want, or better yet your own guitar solo.

To me it's just pop music with heavy guitars. Very high schoolish mentality about it all. Again, no hate, just no where near my radar.

Pop with heavy guitars = melody and heavy guitars. Doesn't sound so bad to me.

I'd rather listen to classical music with no guitar for melodic content than the insipid melodies Nickleback cranks through their Triple Rectos.

Same here. I just have little respect for bands that rely on formulaic music with trite lyrics, even if they have achieved "success", it would be a hollow form of success for me in their shoes. You can't argue that they work hard, though. It's not easy to reach their position and they know how to write hooks.

Good tune. Own any of their Cd's? No...

I should also mention that I have been to Germany many times and happen to know a great many German people both here and over there and thankfully, None of them are remotely like you or even close. Ironically, youre as bad as what you percieve Americans to be like, if not worse..

I think they're ok. It's not rap, excuse me I meant to say Crap. They're a rock band so why hate them. I just wish they'd add some more solos.

One thing though. For those of you who call their music simple, formulated, for rural or redneck people.....well if their music is sooooo easy to do why are you guys working bullshit jobs instead of making albums and millions of dollars like Nickleback.
