Why the "F" is everything backordered? Is alder and mahogany on the endangered species list??

There are ESP guitars I've looked into and some of them are backordered until December of even next year. I don't get why that is.

On a positive note, I have a $39 Donner Noise Gate coming....lol

My 80’s Greco is every bit as good as a Gibson. Feels the same as my old r7. But I owned that in the early 2000’s so take that as you will.
I don't doubt you at all about that. The whole "play authentic" crap is authentically played out. Gibsons are still nice guitars and obviously hold value better but there are guitars for a lot less money that still deliver the goods if you just need a player. I mean, if a knockoff can deliver 95% of the real deal it's mostly meaningless if your chops are sharp.

Actually, the demand is dead now. Music stores are full of inventory, so models they don't have in, yet they are not ordering, and the manufactures are slowing down production as the demand has waned. So, it's not that the demand is too high, it's too low.

High demand on some stuff, low demand on the majority…. Definitely a buyer’s market imo….

Not to hijak reaper’s thread but I was working on a kid’s guitar….cheapest model Jackson makes. Not sure if it’s because of cnc machines but after some setup work and a couple oddball issues…it’s a solid guitar. Electronics were perfect and no noise. Cheap pups but not bad for what they are. A cheap guitar from the 80’s is not the same as a cheap guitar nowadays.

Here it is…..

What are you looking to buy specifically?

“Cheap guitars” are still fine guitars today. I got a sub $200 orangewood acoustic not too long ago and it’s easily the nicest playing and best setup acoustic I’ve ever owned.

ESP has had issues since Covid. Guitars released 2 years ago are only now showing up.

Compared to what I started out with in the 70's, a lot of today's cheap guitars are Ferraris. LOL

How's that Explorer now that you've had it for awhile? Still like those DiMarzio SCHB pickups?
Dude…that guitar is killer. Still not used to the playing position but for a mik guitar…without reservations I would put it up against any Gibson explorer. And those custom schb’s that were handmade by Mr dimarzio himself…shit…killer guitar. Plus it was setup perfectly. There’s definitely alternatives to 2-3000 $ gibsons and such.

Dang you string up with some seriously light gauges. What is that, the Billy Gibbons 7 gauge set?

I wondered about those. Most of the time I take the online reviews with a grain of salt depending on the reviewer of course. But they were getting consistent good reviews. I just got burned buying an acoustic online once so I kinda refuse to consider it. I bought a killer guild jumbo a/e for about 2k and when I got it….boom…it was dead ☠️. New strings, plugged in…didn’t matter…it was completely lifeless. No resonance at all. Horrible.

It’s my new custom strings I’ve got a patent on. The notes just jump off the board…I have literally solved every problem with strings but it doesn’t seem to be catching on. It’s crazy ?

No. Literally everything is backorder these days, guitars, amps, pedals, pickups. So... I think it's just a lessened production/manufacturing of everything to save on costs.

Especially after the losses endured during Covid
