PCB versions of their handwired amps for reduced prices? Thinking about the new BadCat player USA models and that Paul reed Smith interview where he states the market trend is toward price reduction etc.. thoughts?

Although interesting it's old news, this change happened more than a year ago. There is a long thread about it on the Marshall forum.
I don't see him effectively hand populating boards while making 120 amps a month.lespaul6":gi317ebk said:I just learned he is already there... except no price change lol I had no idea he changed to a pcb type layout but I havent been following things too closely lately...

Where did you get the 120 a month? That's 4 amps a day every day. That's a lot of volume. He must have a massive operation with lots of employees. Good for him.
From Daves mouth. You see them stocked everywhere so obviously he's pumping them out.psychodave":2wzvekhx said:LP Freak":2wzvekhx said:I don't see him effectively hand populating boards while making 120 amps a month.lespaul6":2wzvekhx said:I just learned he is already there... except no price change lol I had no idea he changed to a pcb type layout but I havent been following things too closely lately...

With 120 a month being produced, you'd figure they would put at least one in every store (I've checked numerous times)I'd love to try one with the new updates. I hate having to drive to Long Island to play Rockinchippy's amp.

Some GCs carry higher end gear than others based on economic factors of the area.
If he's selling all his company can produce at the higher price point, why would he? With this scale he's making bank.lespaul6":2y2qa9v6 said:LP Freak":2y2qa9v6 said:I don't see him effectively hand populating boards while making 120 amps a month.lespaul6":2y2qa9v6 said:I just learned he is already there... except no price change lol I had no idea he changed to a pcb type layout but I havent been following things too closely lately...
exactly? why not have two lines, an elite handwired series and a full pcb with a more affordable price point? just a thought
