PCB versions of their handwired amps for reduced prices? Thinking about the new BadCat player USA models and that Paul reed Smith interview where he states the market trend is toward price reduction etc.. thoughts?

I just learned he is already there... except no price change lol I had no idea he changed to a pcb type layout but I havent been following things too closely lately...

Although interesting it's old news, this change happened more than a year ago. There is a long thread about it on the Marshall forum.

I'm surprised people are just finding out about this now, there was talk all over the net/various forums when it happened late 2014/early 2015...

I don't see him effectively hand populating boards while making 120 amps a month.

exactly? why not have two lines, an elite handwired series and a full pcb with a more affordable price point? just a thought

Where did you get the 120 a month? That's 4 amps a day every day. That's a lot of volume. He must have a massive operation with lots of employees. Good for him.

As far I know, he doesn't make the amps in house anymore. Forget the company's name that does. He does test them before they go out though.

I personally don't care about any of that stuff- they sound like no other.

From Daves mouth. You see them stocked everywhere so obviously he's pumping them out.

He said 120 in a NAMM interview- it's on YouTube. Go big or go home.

Wow. Good for him. I'm surprised with that volume none of the Guitar Centers in NJ have them? With 120 a month being produced, you'd figure they would put at least one in every store (I've checked numerous times) I'd love to try one with the new updates. I hate having to drive to Long Island to play Rockinchippy's amp.

Some GCs carry higher end gear than others based on economic factors of the area.

I guess so. I just searched Guitar Center and only 2 stores within 100 miles of me have them in stock.... Manhattan and Times Square. I guess NJ is a poor state. :aww:

If he's selling all his company can produce at the higher price point, why would he? With this scale he's making bank.
