Stitched together a couple riffs from At The Gates' Slaughter of the Soul on my Schecter 8 string. Posted this in a Wizard thread on TGP and folks seemed to enjoy it, so I thought I'd share it here where there's a bigger metal audience.

Wizard panned L
Diezel panned R

The tone is pretty cool, makes me want to invest in a stereo setup so I can have that tone live and not just recorded!

Sounds good. Honestly I can't hear any panning. Which Diezel?

Wasn't the original album recorded with a boss metalzone as a preamp into a peavey solid state clean channel?

Thanks. Yeah the panning is subtle, it's only like 25% panned on each side. I tried it with a hard pan L/R but didn't like that quite as much. It's a Diezel Herbert with a Wizard MTL/MCII hybrid.

Was that really the gear they used? Incredible. Sounds great in the mix. Goes to show that all the fancy gear doesn't matter for shit next to good chops, riffs and production.

I use a wizard MTL2 abs and a Hebert mk 1 live . My favorite blend . I use a Keeley framptone so I can use 3 amps . That way I have an extra amp for my cleans . Which for clean I use a Mesa Electrodyne

Nice! Yeah I remember seeing your posts that this is your preferred setup, that's actually what inspired me to try it. Now that I've done it I'm hooked. The Wizard gives this incredible bite and definition, and (at least the way I was running it) lots of midrange so it cuts really clearly - then the Herbert comes in with the bulldozer low end and that big mid-scooped sound.

Any other combos you've experimented with? I've actually been wondering about metal'ing up a non-metal amp (D-style) with a boost+EQ and seeing how that sounded in the mix as well, could be interesting.

Only problem is this has gotta ruin your ability to play just one amp and enjoy it :ROFLMAO:

Hell ya ! . Honestly it’s my favorite combo . But I have done an Uberschall with a vh4 too and it was great . I used ts9 to boost Uberschall while doing it . Guys on here suggested boosting wizard with koko boost v1 and it is amazing .But ya the mix you got sounds great man. That’s cool you did it !
