Wizard MTL darker than other Wizards?

Weird isn't it, a little tube tweaking might get some more out of it.

Not to take anything away from the Uber original though, that thing is just a beast

I love my Uberschall as well .My Uber sounds better with my Randall Warhead cab than the Uberkab. Shit can get weird lol

I know right.

And that MTL clip I posted, I actually am really happy with it.

It's only when you A/B against the uber that it sounds 'more dark' but if I just threw that into a mix, I think it would sound great.

Do both ! It’s always better for me . I always use 2 heads on a track to fill it out . Especially those 2 heads

It is strange because I have both amps and my MTL2 punches so much harder even when playing live

The Uber Rev 1 is different than the later revisions. It has more low end thump than my MTL, but the MTL is the harder hitting amp

the bogner sounds better by a wide margin. the wizard has a weird gain structure and eq curve. its tough to tell with one guitar down the middle though, double tracked would be better.

Yeah Rev Blue is different. Rev 2 is closer, but still not the same or as brutal. It’s a shame there are too many amps that got worse after the early versions (Recto’s, VH4’s, Bogner’s, SLO). I crossed all those amps off my list a while ago just to later realize I hadn’t tried the right one yet

BOOM! Problem fixed..

Seems like it was the preamp tubes and I also just knocked the bias back a tad.

Took out the JJ pres and replaced with the Ruby's... much better now.

More alive and more bite that I was looking for.
