True, but current police obviously can't handle the current workload. I see nothing wrong with local PD getting some help/training from the experts until they can get back on track.

I never suggested it was. Ideally major city leaders, prosecutors and judges would put people above politics and actually hold criminals responsible for their actions and punish them appropriately and quit trying to blame it on inanimate objects and law abiding citizens.
 
It’s a good first step, military support. Step 2, if possible; military tribunals replacing "hand slap" judges. The vid @Geo posted is an example of a huge part of the problem, the human waste that attacked the woman was repeating his crime again and again...how can a judge in their right mind release him again and again.
I can’t speak for other areas but around here, judges running for office are rarely opposed and are supported by the ruling party which is republican. Easy to imagine a demo-run city seating the same demo judges term after term and going easy on criminals term after term...that doesn't happen here, break the law and the hammer comes down.

I really have no opinion on California.

But when the OP asks a very general “what do you think will happen with the next elections?” and someone’s first and only input is “immigrants!” He clearly had too much of the koolaid.

I voted for Trump the first time he ran because he did seem different.
But once Covid hit it was clear he lacked any actual leadership capabilities, and it has just gone downhill since
