Nah, get a Mark V. It craps all over the JVM. It has REAL reverb for one. It's MORE versatile than the JVM. It SOUNDS better than the JVM. It SOUNDS great at all volumes. It's just a way better amp. I didn't like the JVM distortion. The orange channel sounds too trebly. You can't dial it out. The Red channel gets muddy. In fact, the JVM sounds muddier than the DSL. I think the DSL is a better sounding amp.

Yeah, your best bet is the Mark V man. If you're going Marshall, JCM800 or Plexi is the only way to go as far as I'm concerned.

Sounds like someone can't dial in a simple to use amp, and uses crap speakers.
The JVM is about the most versatile amps made that covers a lot of ground. And since it's basic footprint is identical to the vintage JCM800's circuit.

But, back on topic. I think it would add a nice swiss army knife of tones to the setup the original poster has. Excellent cleans, great vintage Marshall tones, Super tight high gain without the mud. And 12 channel choices can cover a lot.
RRBH

LOL! So you think you're a better player than me? Let your fingers do the talking boy. By all means, please show me how to use an amp if you're that good.

I also use a Mesa Boogie 2x12 with Celestion Vintage 30's as my main cab. I guess those are crap speakers to you. How many JVM's have you owned? I've owned 3 for two years and used them as my main amps for a while, so I don't know what you think you're talking about but I'd love to hear your expertise. Please post a link to your sound clips.

What I said about the JVM isn't far from the truth even to JVM lovers. I think you'd be in the minority to describe the JVM as "super tight high gain without the mud." That sounds a lot more like a Fryette or ENGL than the JVM dude.

By the way, I own a JCM 800 and JCM2000 DSL 100 have directly compared them to the JVM 410H. Certainly you can dial in all the Marshall amp sounds with the JVM, but they do not sound as good as the real amps. In fact, I doubt more than a handful of people who have owned both amps would say the JVM sounds better than the JCM 800.

As far as I'm concerned, you can dial amps all day but if you can't get the tone with your hands then how you dial an amp is for shit.
Dude, I think the issue is that it's YOUR opinion that the JVM is not good.

My first amp was a JMP 50 watt MV all the way to my most recent purchase of the VHT SigX. I prefer the JVM. I've owned 2 since they came out...countless gigs, sessions and compliments and I couldn't be happier. Doesn't sound muddy to me...in fact all the complaints you listed...I don't have those with mine. Why? Who knows...but I'd say it's the way I play, my settings, they way I hear things etc... It's all subjective man.

The Roadster is quite the flexible amp. As a fellow Mesa user/lover......how about instead of getting another do-all-swiss-army-knife super-flexible amp, getting a killer single channel Marshall to mix in. (that's what I'd do if I had the $$!)

See that's where you're wrong. I never said the JVM wasn't good. I said the Mark V craps all over it and that the DSL sound better. I never said it wasn't a good amp. I also went on to say later that I liked best how it sounded with pedals on channel 1.

I used to really love the JVM, but over time and a lot of experimenting with different Marshalls, I finally settled on the JCM800 and DSL100 because I think they're better sounding amps. Moreover, I HATE the JVM digital reverb. I've heard better reverb on a POD in my opinion.

Overall the JVM is a pretty good amp, but I've changed my mind about it over the years. In my opinion, the JCM 800 is a superior amp to the JVM.

On the other hand, I've heard the Voodoo Mods really help the JVM out a lot. If I still had my 215c, I would send it off for a mod.

Come to think of it though, another amp I'd suggest to the OP is a Koch Twintone II. Wow! Those amps are spectacular. 3 channels with plenty of bells and whistles. not all the modes like the JVM, but between the cleans and OD's, it's a very versatile amp. The reverb is excellent. The tone though really steps it up a notch.

I personally prefer the Twintone with a boost even though I'm not much of a pedal guy. I think I posted a sound clip of a Twintone combo if you want to check it out.

Wrong about what six?

See I never said amp A craps all over amp B...why? Because it's your opinion vs. mine. Neither is right or wrong. Thats what you don't seem to get.

If you would preface things by saying "IMO"...that's easier to understand because your only speaking for yourself. Alot of people...most that I know love the stock JVM. Like i was saying earlier...and I'll be more direct...I cannot stand Boogies but for me to say that my JVM or the SLO, UltraLead or countless other amps I've owned crapped all over the Mark V, Dual Rect. or any Mesa for that matter is silly.

Mesa makes fantastic amps...they're just not for me. And like you have no problem recommending somebody check out a Mesa, I have no problem telling somebody to check out the JVM. Cool?

I think your remarks are wrong. Yup, I said wrong. Not about the Mark 5, because I haven't played one, but about the JVM. The JVM is waaaay tighter than any stock DSL I have ever heard. By far. And thin? I have no idea how you came up with that. I have plenty of clips in my sig that are straight in with no boost and no studio trickery to back up my point.

Looks like a firm bust to me.

I like the MarkV also, but it is really not much better than a Mark 4 other than a few additional options, and a more usable rhythm channel.
But, it's like every other Mark series. It sounds like a Mark series. People either like it or not. One is no better than the next.

But I am still trying to figure out how this guy got that I said I was a better player than him from my post? I never realized that's what you have to be in order to dial in an amp properly and use good speakers. But if he loves his V30 2x12 cabinet, so be it. The JVM sounds horrible through V30's compared to G12H30's, so maybe that is what he meant by "Thin and muddy". I'd put my chips on the cabinet.

Bravo! God you're so smart. Too bad all your glorius, self-perceived, talent is wasted on a life so pathetic that you have to waste it rooting through obscure Internet threads just to find parallels between Internet user remarks.

What's the point? Because some douchebag says I'm too aggressive so now you want to call me out too? OF COURSE I'm aggressive. I'm a fucking fighter man. That's what people like me do, we thrive on aggression. I don't train and enjoy a steady diet of pain just so I can go act like an ass-kissing Internet douchebag.

I'll tell you something else too. People may not like my personal style or my opinions, but no one can ever say I'm not 100% honorable as a seller, trader OR friend. It's entirely possible that I've done more high-dollar trades on forums than you make in a year... (well actually I don't know if you have a job because anyone with a life wouldn't be wasting time digging up threads off the Internet and shit). The point is, I've traded and sold so much high-dollar shit and still maintain a 100% positive reputation.

I tell you what, I'd rather hang out with an honest asshole than an asshole who can't be trusted. That by itself is a good enough reason to try and actually KNOW somebody before talking shit about them.

All that shit being said, at least I was trying to help the OP decide by not only my point of view but explaining SPECIFICALLY why I don't think the JVM is a good choice for his setup. I wasn't just sitting there saying the JVM sucks, blah blah blah... and I don't think it sucks. I just think it needs some improvement.

So enough of the unrelated shit you're trying to pull into this thread and back to the actual thread topic. The JVM might be a good choice with a couple of mods. If the Voodoo Mods are as good as they say, then the JVM could really be a bad-ass amp.

Check it out http://www.voodooamps.com/home/AmpUpgra ... fault.aspx

Dude it wasn't too hard to know you're the same person since I've been reading alot of Bogner threads lately - so it wasn't like it took more than 5 minutes to find the same posts.

You lied. It was easy to call you out. Seems simple. I wouldn't have bothered but for your aggressiveness. Man up and move on. Noone questioned your honesty in working deals. I doubt you've done more deals than me on the forums anyway since you overprice stuff and expect to buy things from others on the cheap because you're "accustomed to getting dealer prices" because you deal in completely unrelated brands. HA HA HA! A, supposedly, big-time banker with nothing better to do than this! LOL! Wow, that's funny as hell dude. LMAO! That was great man. Thanks for the laugh.

By the way, get ready to read something funny as hell because it's ironic that you stated those things (this thread needs a good laugh).

See I too was a bank executive at one time. I got this high-paying job as a bank IT manager where I managed a large staff, had an expense account, credit cards, personalized parking space, company car, insurance out of the ass, etc... I think I might have worked the better part of 1 week when I realized I didn't fit in with bankers at all. Most of them were lazy, pretentious assholes who did petty little things to justify keeping their jobs.

Everyone was always watching their asses all of the time. WHATEVER people said in emails could quickly become the topic of long, drawn-out meetings where someone would be put under the gun because someone else had nothing better to do than call them out. The bankers would come to my office and ask me to pull archives of emails from many years past, taped telephone conversations, etc... just so they could use it like evidence in a court case. Hell those big shots didn't even care about going through the help-desk system they fought for getting, no, they went directly to me for their petty shit.

God these people were so petty and pretentious that it became like a cartoon that just wasn't funny. They would spend hours upon hours filing through papers and email messages, pulling quotes out to support their wild accusations against other bankers. These people spent so much time, money, and effort going after each other that it was just hard to believe.

One day kind of recently, I had to sit in a couple of board meetings with a bunch of credit unions because of the "Obama bill" that affected all open-ended lending. It was a circus dude, a perfect example of how congress actually works.

See congress went off and passed this legislation to protect credit card customers, but at the same time they totally screwed all the credit unions across the U.S. because they fucked up their open-lending shit. What that led to was hours upon hours of emails with state representatives, credit union organizations, attorneys, etc... The government had no idea what the hell they did or were doing, but they rigidly expected it to be done within a deadline of like 2 months. LOL!

Furthermore, besides all that shit going on, there was always some banker asshole stealing money or trying to cover his ass from fucking up paperwork. Basically everyone I met who worked at the bank were either spoiled-rotten assholes, theives, or lazy assholes who tried their best to do absolutely nothing in their suffering chairs.

After maybe 2 months, I got up one day and strolled into work late feeling lighter and more stress-free than I felt for 1 1/2 months. I bypassed one of the boring mandatory board meetings and went straight to my office. I locked the door and didn't answer any phone calls or respond to knocks on my door until I finished a fucking masterpiece email.

The email I wrote basically said that I was fed up working with a bunch of petty, pretentious, lazy, theiving assholes who justified their jobs by gunning down their own people. I expressed my hatred towards them for their incessant fucking-over of customers (that's a whole other story). I told them to stop eating so many fucking kolaches, doughnuts and cakes because they were fat as fuck, and to stop smoking and drinking coffe because their breaths stunk like hell and stunk up all the fucking board room meetings.

I admonished them to not ever reproduce offspring of their fucking demon seeds. I told them that I didn't give a rat's ass if I could never work in another bank in my life, that I would rather die slowly than to have to work with Satan's fucking minions again.

That was basically it. I took my last few weeks of pay, walked out the door and never looked back. It was probably the most vindicating and liberating walk from a job I ever took, and I left those douchebags fucking speechless LOL!

Nah, get a Mark IIC+.

Yeah, your best bet is the Mark IIC+ man. If you're going Marshall, JCM800 or Plexi is the only way to go as far as I'm concerned.

Fixed. :D

Sounds like someone hasn't played the Mark V yet.

  I bought a Mark V 6 months before it came out. I've owned IIC+'s, III's, and IV's and the Mark V isn't as good as any of them. I couldn't get rid of that POS Mark V fast enough. Yes, i said POS because the 3rd channel blows IMHO. I dumped the Mark V and pickup up a Fortin Cali mod which takes a piss all over the V.

This should be good, both Danyeo and Sixstrings (if it's the same guy from TGP) tend to state their opinions in an inflammatory manner.

Really?

Dude there are billions of people on the Internet. What makes you think you can go out among millions of forum users and match it up to someone else? Hey genius, I hope you realize how pathetic and uncool this shit is. Don't be calling people out like that.

What, are you a kid? How old are you? 14? Stop being a douchebag. No one gives a shit who is on the Internet as long as they have something worthwhile to offer on the forum. I suggest you take a step back and try being cool. You'll make more friends that way.

I still don't believe you, but whatever bro.

I wish I was called 14 years old  I usually get called balding and old

not fat? :D
