Would you play out an EVH Art series?

I love the white/black EVH art series. They look so cool and seem like fine guitars, increasingly affordable on the used market.

But I think I'd be embarassed to play it out. I am nowhere near an EVH like player, and I wonder if it'd make me the laughing stock.

What's your verdict? Would you not hesitate and play an EVH art series in front of the audience, even if you're not in a VH cover band?

I have an old Washburn Dime 333, plays and sounds FANTASTIC, honestly could care less about the whole "sig" thing, if a guitar plays good and sounds good who gives a shit if someone has their name on it......

Agreed...play what YOU like. The only people who will most likely get the EVH reference are the few guitarists and VH fans in the crowd...most people will just see a cool striped guitar. If you dig the way it plays and sounds, use it and forget about about what a few others may think.

No, although I do gig with an N4 on occasion, but no one knows what that guitar is or who Nuno is.

Absolutely would!! I see guys gigging Vai, Satriani, SRV guitars ALL the time....dont see why an EVH would be any different. Plus I think you give the audience too much credit...unless they were musicians I bet half of them wouldnt know what the heck it is anyhow...

I have a VH I and a VH II guitar (not the art series) and I play them, especially when we do a VH cover. Goes over great.

Welll.. I play out with Boneyard, Rossington and Slash Les Pauls along with a KK Downing V I just got but these are much more subtle signature models.

Here, everyone can picture the guitar in a split second. That being said, Eddie`s guitar is probably one of the easiest guitars to recognize for a non-musician, but I don`t think I`d care. If it feels good and sounds good, it is good.

Yeah, but on these quilt Peaveys and MusicMans it's a very different matter, those could be any guitar to 99.9% of the audience. But the striped ones are a different thing.

I love the guitar and specs, but I think I'd be a bit embarassed playing my stuff on it in front of others.

We must be speaking of different guitars... The one I have is faded candy apple red, 1 of 30 from Gibson's Judas Priest Tribute Set. Review: KILLER!!

that's pretty funny. A chick named Sherri Hole that played in a bar in Caesars Palace had a guitarist that was playing an EVH Art guitar and a snakeskin Soldano SLO. ALL she did was play Lady GaGa, Madonna, etc covers.

Dude looked miserable. It was totally the "i'm really a rocker but this is the only gig that pays" look and he was totally staring at his shoes when he was singing backup vocals to Poker Face.

you should rephrase that to "easiest guitar to recognize by non-musician males over the age of 35"
