Here, everyone can picture the guitar in a split second. That being said, Eddie`s guitar is probably one of the easiest guitars to recognize for a non-musician, but I don`t think I`d care. If it feels good and sounds good, it is good.

you should rephrase that to "easiest guitar to recognize by non-musician males over the age of 35"

Yeah, but those are my peers, so...
I`m 37, most of my non-playing friends are males over 35

Welll.. I play out with Boneyard, Rossington and Slash Les Pauls along with a KK Downing V I just got but these are much more subtle signature models.

I think he's playing them for 3-4 years now. Heavily featured in the "Rising In The East" DVD.

To the OP, I would play the EVH out but at the same time I am a bit wary of buying signature models for exactly that reason!
But I guess the sentiment that Eddie would be flying the finger and rockin' out says it all really, so go for it
