@EyesOfTheSouth! I recently compared vertical to horizontal with my Carvin Legacy slant and some (worn) EVM12S Pro-Lines, and came out liking the horizontal arrangement better. Will post phone clips here at some point.
Speakers aligned vertically on one side of the cab:
Speakers aligned horizontally in the top of the cab:
Cab is a Carvin Legacy 4x12 slant, speakers are two EVM12S Pro-Lines wired in parallel, amp is an '82 2204 with settings I stole from a @Bxlxaxkxe video and a riff I stole from a @Bxlxaxkxe video, and a PS100 to tame the volume. Recorded on a galaxy S7 set on a hamper about where my chest would be when I sit down on a bench 5ft in front of the cab.

Too fun. I've got other things I'm supposed to be doing! EVMs were actually something I was into before I got the 2204, but now I have both them and the unneutered (mids-cap clipped) Marshall in the same room.
This thread is hilarious although don’t doubt it’s all true. I have couple of questions:
1. Could it be two of the four speakers were out of phase causing the two to sound better?
2. Has anyone tested to see if a single speaker in a 4x12 sounds even betterer?
