Hell, I know that you didn't mean it that way with the wording. But you're not understanding what I wrote it seems. There are people in the online community who look to profit from websites in other ways...such as lawsuits over "perception" of posted words and reviews. There are plenty of those people on the TGP. Never mind if it was true, factual or accurate, they did it for other reasons.
If you've seen the pedal board section over there, apparently that's been a zoo for years over "intellectual copying" and downright lying. Past that there is swaying people from one respected brand to another for sales. Pure greed, IMO. That happened years ago with two guitar makers shilling TGP members by PM to solicit business. That wound up in a lawsuit.
Pretty sure after 12 plus years on that site I've come to recognize the shills, the trolls, the aholes, the guys with an agenda (flavor of the month demo artists for one, and no I'm not naming names) for profit at the expense of all others, up to and including lying.
If you were to put your posted words in your mouth and speak them to 200 members across the internet, I doubt anyone would mistake your use of "gay colors" as anything other than what you said. I sure didn't. But you have to understand there are others who look for the tiniest reason to insert themselves in your life so you have no influence, or valid opinion posted.
As for the mods, I've been banned four times, they didn't seek me out. Someone turned me in, for asking a question. All were legitimate, but the ones who reported me said they could have construed it otherwise and felt I violated the rules.
Did I get my panties in a bunch over it? Sure. I knew the sellers were being dishonest to potential buyers. But they didn't want my post to be answered as they knew it would show they weren't honest. So I got banned for interfering with a for sale thread where a seller was misrepresenting a guitar by asking him why the serial # didn't seem right for that year 58 LP Junior.
Long story short, the post was deleted. I got a timeout for a week. I learned my lesson that you can't pose a question that brings a seller's integrity into question. For the record, that seller never advertised his 58 LP Jr on the LPF forum. I asked him why. He got bent. I got banned, end of story.
But as innocent as your "gay colors" reference was to thousands, or millions, the TGP has had to enforce rules that are ridiculous because other members are ridiculous, not you.
Once you understand that, you can understand why you got a time out. I hope that helps explain what entitled bozos are on the internet these days, willing to say whatever to screw with your posts. What they wouldn't dare say to your face, they can do behind a screen name with no reference to who they are. I don't have that luxury, nor do I want it. I'll own this post, and the others in this thread, whether you buy my speakers or not.
EDIT: Sky High...ok, read your updated post and the link. So here's the problem. You were warned about this on 4/23 it seems, then you did it again. The mods probably didn't track this down, they are way too busy. But the people who turned you in the first time on 4/23 probably did, since they had the axe to grind.
I doubt the mods have no lives, I know 1/2 of them, they do have lives. But the entitled posters who turned you in can't have much of a life if they went back to check on your posts a month after the 4/23 post you were initially warned about. Sadly, those "entitled" whistle blowers have their rights, too. From what I know, 1 warning is OK, 2 maybe, third time you're banned.
Sucks, but again, it is what it is with those who report other posts to enhance their lives. Sorry. Personally I didn't see anything wrong with the 4/23 post you linked.
