This proves that the idiots who ruined eBay long ago have now moved on to Reverb..and why eBay is now a better choice for everything. The Forums are still the best option, but I've been back to eBay for a few yrs now and have been very happy with every transaction.

I swear people keep getting more and more crazy with their gear selling online. The other day on craigslist, a guy posted a bunch of pedals and put "make an offer". There was an SD-1 and I am currently rebuilding a pedal board so I figured "why not" and offered him $30 for it, I thought it was a fair offer since I can buy one for $50 anywhere. He messaged back and put "Nice try, lowballer". Curiosity got the best of me so I responded and asked what his sale price was. He replied back "I want what I paid for it, $70".

Same! I thought the quarantine would bring with it a lot of really good deals; people doing short sales and panic selling to make some cash. Instead, the deals dried up and those that are out there have gone up in price. The cost of used gear seems to be bonkers across the board right now.

ive been wanting a fender prosonic for a while, they were going for about $800 before the pandemic and i said when i see one for $650 which i figured for sure would happen i would grab it, instead they all went up to $1200+ peavey XXX's that were going for $450-500 going for $8-900. shits fucked

Yep. People want top dollar for shit these days, and people on Reverb don't want to pay the taxes, so you have to give shit away, and now Reverb's charging 5%. It's now a viscous cycle.
