The X88 is the reissue. The X99 is different; it's a collaboration with Tim Caswell who did the mod to the amp everyone wanted to steal from SIR in LA; the modded 71 Tremolo #39. It's a different circuit and has I believe, motorized controls.

those servos would make me nervous if they ever aged out. but how rad would it be to have a new X99 type tube preamp with synergy collaboration as a specialty high gain device?

switching between discreet soldano slo, caswell SIR, diezel herbert, cameron atomica, bogner uberschall etc core modules based on those circuits, but designed with digital control/recall of the glibal analog eqs like the X99 or triaxis?
