X pattern v30/gk100 question

..i know is a stupid question..because always trying to improve tone can sometimes become a waste of money..but..

-my current 2009 Diezel 4x12 FL is loaded with V30 and i like it more than with my previous VH4,
so an x pattern v30/gk100 how does it sound?

Big improvment or waste of money?

I guess it depends on what your previous cab was loaded with...?? I've got the FL G12K100 cab and I find it 'fine'. By this I mean it's super neutral - pulls like a freight train, handles hurricane like wind, and stays consistent from low to high volumes. I like that - doesn't change its color or tone along the way, that's the amp's job. V30's can be spiky unless turned up high on the volumes; depends what it is you're looking for.

I have one of these cabs but not in x-pattern!! You can use the 4x12 as a 2x12. So it is possible to run either the v30 or the g12K100 in studio- or life-situation. If the speakers are mounted in x-pattern you´ll always hear both of them. If the speakers arn´t mounted in x-pattern you have three different soundoptions. v30 - g12k100 or both. With x-patter you have only one option.
Just my two cents and Peters (Stapfer) too!!!

btw. the Cab sounds excellent!!!

Well, you can always rewire the cab so you can use only V30 or K100 even in an x-pattern. You will lose the option to use only the left/right two speakers but the stereo capabilities of a 4x12 are not that good anyways.

i have my new German cab in an X with the V30 & G12K100. I love it with the VH4. Still has the great tone of the V30 & the nice round lows of the G12K. Give it a try...you will probably enjoy the tone alot!

Thank you all!

I'm a bit undecided with those minor mods to global tone like changing two speakers.
Now i like my tone at all..of course with some minor adjustments maybe can sound a little better.
So i'll go for the sure and safe improvements:
-big block for the Floyd and bridge pu (if i don't like it i can always put it in another guitar that absolutly needs)
-speakers: after the summer i'll try the GK100.
