The guitar sound on Hungry is still one of my all time favorite tones ever, Marc Diglio's playing was badass on this album. I've used the Cameron CCV sim in the AxeFx2

That was fantastic in every way. Well done and really appreciated. Thank you for sharing.

If you ask me, that was the most underrated album of the '80's. I wore that one out. The tones and playing were out of this world.

Ed

Edit: I just remembered that was not from their self titled album.

Fucking nice and greasy  Love that kind of cock rock tone too

I hear he used an ada mp1 on that album. Great job as usual.

Killer stuff Rocco. I had a big smile on my face while listening to you kill it and it looked like you were having a blast playing it. We covered that song in the first cover band I ever played out in around 1991.

Rocco!!
Wow! Also one of my alltime fav tunes and guitar tones!
GREAT job, Bro!!!

thanks dude! there are a lot of speculations regarding what he used in the studio, on the first album (XYZ) he probably played through a Jose Arredondo modded marshall but on "Hungry" he used a custom built preamp by Mike Morin, they're extremely rare (there are like 20 or so worldwide)

Sounds great man! I love that record and that is also my go to for the perfect Marshall tone. My jam is HH Boogie.

Yes the original recording sounds amazing. Anybody aware what was used?

I believe this to be true about the Morin preamp. My buddy had a couple of Morin preamps and Morin modded Marshalls and at this time, he told me Marc Diglio from XYZ was at Mike Morin's house when my buddy went to pick something up and that Diglio told him that he had used the Morin preamp on the new Hungry album that wasn't even released yet. XYZ were not a very big band in LA at the time even though they had a record out and my friend was not a fan so this was not a situation where my friend even cared that some dude in a local band had one too.

I ended up owning a couple of Morin preamps back in the day too (the tone freak friend got hooked on speed and needed to make rent). They were very cool. WAY, WAY, WAY better than the ADA in my opinion. No where near as versatile with just one sound being able to be dialed in at a time but at a different level tone-wise to me. And way more in your face and present. It always seemed to me like the ADA was coming out of a 10' deep 4x12 cabinet and that the speakers were in the back of the cabinet. YMMV

I would love to hear your guitar tone mixed more up front.
