Great series, Phillies were tough. Thank God i can get some sleep now. May the Ghosts and demons of 2001, 2003, and 2004 RIP FOREVER. This one was sweet.

Congrats to the Yankees...that's the only congrats you'll get from me!! Hideki Matsui might have just became the most famous person in Japan.

Philly teams always choke

Well the Eagles do. But the Phillies were champs last year and they were a MUCH MUCH better team this year, which makes the Yanks win even better.

Damn great season. I really enjoyed it and I'm happy I got to see this team 4 times this year. The new stadium was awsome and I'm happy the won the world series in it's first season. I thought Philly was a good team and they had me scared a few times, I went to game 3 and I had to take alot of shit from the Philly fans for wearing a Yankee jersey but it was worth it.

I have been going to games every year, except this year since i was busy with my Daughter. Game 3 would have been sweet to go to but i can imagine how the Phillies fans would have been, if they're anything like Eagles fans. A real nasty bunch they are

I don't know about that. Hamels and Lidge were awful. So I'm not sure how much better they could be if their ace and closer were a mess. Rollins wasn't great either. Jason Weurth took a step up though and is an underrated star. But I don't think this Phillies team was better than last year at all.

The phillies were better last year, as stated Lidge and Hamels were much better and Howard hit better.

I am stoked for big game Matsui to get that ring the way he did it and Jeter just put the ! on his career as one of the best shortstops in the history of the game. Nomar who????  Age 36 and batted over 400.

Mo.................the greatest post season reliever ever.

I felt bad for Pedro though, never nice to see a champion age like that no matter who he played for.

Ah all is well again in the sports world............World Series Champs

congrats to the yankees, even though I can't stand them. (not looking forward to the media hype for the next year  )

Watched the end of the game at the bar, after Dallas vs Calgary hockey game.

I was the only one hyped tho

They're a better team this year because Cliff Lee, Ibanez, and Werth had a big year, but yes the closer situation wasn't helping them. Last year at this time they played better but they fielded a better team this year.

Well they didn't have Cliff Lee all year and Howard was down too. They also had no competition in their division.

Amazing that Lee and Pedro weren't on the team in July and they started games 1 and 2 of the World Series.

Danny, that photo of Matsui RULES!!!!!!

Think about it. He's the coolest dude in NYC today. But likely still a very bad driver. :D

The Pirates highest paid player is Akinori Iwamura who makes 4.8 million...the Yankees payroll is 200+ million...yeah, there's nothing wrong with baseball.

If you don't like the lack of a salary cap then stop watching baseball, simple as that. They didn't care about steroids when half the league was shootin up and breaking Home Run records so a salary cap is the last thing that would ever happen.

if you can buy a world series then why doesnt the team with the highest payroll win every year?

Congratulations NY.

I wouldn't have given Matsui the MVP...slacker didnt get a triple last night to complete the cycle :)
