I personally don't think Yngwie will change what is not broken in terms of what main gear he uses, just like EVH, he will most likely work with Fender to develop his own product line.

hopefully this includes a line of Pirate Shirts

What I meant to say was I would have liked too see a little more credit given to those songs in particular. I think Lament and Caprici Di Diablo were as awesome as some of his early stuff. Anyway, it was a good review. Let me know if you review his new album after it comes out.

While you are at it - check out the interview and feature story we did with
him:

Those photos showing true artistry in Photoshop.
Yingwie is an extremely talented and gifted musician, but what the almighty gives on one side steals on the other (mainly social skills). Too bad he's ego limiter is permanently detached.

Yes, he has been witnessed being a dick many times, but I will be completely honest with you - he was totally cool and down to earth in this interview.

Good review, I enjoyed it. His comments on his own albums were interesting. I still doubt he'll ever remix and release War to End All Wars. It would be cool though.

Yeah, I know....he has been talking about it for as long as it's been released.

It's funny, but in the album commentary's, he contradicts some stuff he said in earlier interviews. For example - in the past he has called Magnum Opus "garbage" and has spewed hate for any release with Goran Edman on it (Eclipse and Fire and Ice)

Yeah I was a little confused with this comments on Rising Force too. He was acting like he didn't want to do solo that stuff. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he do that album to make a statement? Furthermore, that's the album that catapulted him to the top of the guitar legends food chain.

I truly believe that if he had released one of his rock albums before Rising Force, he wouldnt' be where he's at today. Just my opinion. What are your thoughts?

Agree, it was the first album AND the "soundpage" that was in Guitar Player magazine prior to it's release - it was "Black Star." I recall everyone and their Mom talking about it at the time.

What he was trying to say when commenting on the first album, was that he had no intention to do an instrumental album and was surprised when they told him that was the deal, but through his persitance he managed to get Jeff Scott Soto on 2 tracks. Then he goes on to say that Marching Out was really what he intended the first album to be.
