Finding electricians, mechanics, plumbers, etc. around here can take awhile. We tried to get my kid's car into a shop, their first opening is May 5th, found another shop that does first come, first serve...dropped it off today; no idea when they'll get to it, depends on what's in line ahead of us. Crazy.
 
Call your homeowner insurance and the driver's insurance company and let them deal with it.
There's no reason not to. Would guess that the later is on the hook for hotel costs until the repairs are completed, too.
 
this blows so bad . But hey I got to stay positive . The lines could went the window they hit . I was laying bend next to the wall . I thought I was an earthquake or a terror attack on my Larry lol
 
Wow - that’s really unlucky! Setting amps aside for a second, living without power is a huge pain in the ass so I hope this gets sorted out soon for you.

Luckily for you it is not the middle of summer or winter. I've got all kinds of camping gear, and stoves, and wood, and whatnot. Hell, you can stay at my cabin while I lay bend on that Larry.
 
I doubt you'll have issues, since it sounds like the lines were severed quick. Better than crossing. The power lines somehow made a connection to the cable lines here one year after a wind storm, and sent power through everyone's cable tv on my block. That lit the whole joint up, and caught stuff on fire. Stuff I had on surge protectors survived, but it fried a lot of stuff like the electric stove, dehumidifier, tv, etc.

I had a tree fall and rip mine off. I had the tree cut up and gone when the tree removal company showed up to get it. Power company got there at the same time and reattached it to my house. That should at least fall under the persons insurance company….problem is the power company probably won’t turn the power back on until an electrical inspector certifies it. I dunno bro….

oh forgot to mention, if you're getting a generator, get the sine wave inverter variety. They are a bit more, but work well with electronics. They make some really good quiet portables at this point. My 4500W saved me several times last year in upstate NY.
