The two stupidest things I sold and regretted more than anything else was my Diezel Paul and a stunning custom shop Fender strat with a flame maple neck, flame top, etc... After a lot of trouble, I finally redeemed myself and got another Paul, but you cannot get custom shop strats for the price I paid for that one anymore. I think I paid only $1200 on clearance at a local guitar shop who had it for 2 years. It was a flame maple cap with Alder body and had a cherry burst finish. It had pearl inlays and a beautifully figured flame maple neck. This was about 6 years ago, but not you can't find anything like that less than $3000. At the time I sold it for $1700 and thought I did good making a few hundred, but now I think it was just stupid.

What was your most regrettable *music gear* sale/trade you ever made? Did you end up getting another or do you still long for it?

My modded VH4. That amp sounded SOOOO goddamn good. :(
Oh well it's like the super hot chick you banged in high school, I'll always remember you.

I had a '06 LP Standard in Desert Burst that I sold. I miss that guitar way more than any I've sent away.

Les Paul Classic. Haven't found another guitar, including other Les Pauls, that sound quite like it.

I had a white Ibanez UV7PWH that i should've held onto...
1984 JCM 800 2203
1979 JMP 100

A custom made Mayones Regius and a Skervesen 4AP. I have a new 4AP on build though, so can't wait to get that.

Zion Phil Keaggy Sig Guitar
1955 Fender Pro 1x15
Landgraff 100W Head

A 1979 Marshall Jmp it was killer had Fred Tacone (d/13) dial it in when he lived on balboa island
I really miss that amp still haunts me...

-pffffffffff!!!-my life is full of regrets, but gear wise,

-#1) 1969 Gibson Les Paul with P-90's.. I traded it for a Fender lead 1-(the lie I told myself,... "I'll grab another one in a few month's)-
-#2) SUNN 6x12, inverted "V" baffle-(infinite baffle)-with out a doubt the loudest, room filling, moved your innards around at its whim, louder and more brutal than any stack, traded it for a Peavey bass 4x10 & 1x15 set up-(this was before SUNN came into fashion with the sludge & doom crowd)-had a real bad feeling as I helped load this in the back of the pick up...... "I'll grab another one for $100 in a couple month's"
-Marshall 8x10-(the biggest one, with 35's in it)-$300
-1970's Fender Strat, all white, big peg head, just like HENDRIX had at Woodstock, $300-"ah well there's a ton of these thing's around, I'll grab another one in a couple months for $150"
-built an exact duplicate of Pete Townsend & Ritchie Blackmore's MARSHALL 8X12 cab,..all 3/4" voidless, cabinet grade, Baltic birch ply, filled it with vintage green/blackbacks, 75/55hz speaker's,with out a doubt the second best cab I've ever heard, moved to the west coast, couldn't sell it, cut it in half, made a 4x12 and a 2x12 out of it, I literally cried in my vodka & chased me tears and crystal skull with a cold PBR,.. "I'll build another one when I get situated on the west coast"

None really. Really happy with my beat to shit Jem BFP and Teuffel 7. Maybe a rosewood neck/rosewood top EB Axis I had. That thing sounded amazing for leads but the neck was a bit too thick for me.

I do not regret much...      Happy with what I currently have

MIJ EVH Stealth...I've had two since then and a USA Stealth, none of them have played or sounded like that one, and I got it as a blem from Sweetwater. Pissed me off like you wouldn't believe, especially the USA. $2200 and it doesn't play as well as a $600 import? Cmon...

Fryette GP/DI...got it on a smoking deal, sold it for way more than I paid, and still miss it. Those things kick ass for what they cost and do.

In 1990 I sold a mint Peavey Butcher that I bought new in 1986. Let her go for $150.

Traded my youth for marriage. Worst trade ever.

Traded that marriage for hookers and blow. Fun for a while, but second worst trade.

Traded hookers and blow for a good paying job and a "normal" life full of gear, guns and booze. WIN!

As for gear....I keep all the good stuff close.

1962 Stratocaster. I got it for $50.00 from a friend of my father. No, that's not a typo. Fifty dollars.
Got rid of it in 1995 because we had a baby on the way. Ended up getting 2k, a Clapton Strat, a Tube Driver pedal, and a Marshall 1x12 combo.

The Voodoo Amp stuff is underappreciated.

Early in my gear buying/selling days, I scored my first Cameron modded Marshall. A 2203X with a modern mod. Made about 800 on the sale, but that one haunts me. Forum member here has it...he ain't selling...

My Hamer USA Centaura, my main axe for 17 years, stupidly sold it to chase an amp of some kind..pretty sure it's the beat one on Reverb coming out of Russia. Has the same wear/tear I remember, with finish checking...maybe I'll buy it back..

But I'm very happy with my C+ and Jubilee.
