My little Vypyr...

I have a Tech21NYC TM30 that is a fantastic practice amp. It really gets some great tones, but I just have an aversion against playing small amps so I usually play through one of my Marshall JMPs or my Mesa.

I tried some of the Line 6 stuff out while shopping for small amps for my g/f..
The 15 & 30 watt Spiders 4 amps have the weirdest thing I have ever heard in an amp regarding chords using the B & high E strings those notes just turn to mush and it isn't like a natural mush it just flat out weird I have never heard that sound in an amp before..
The closest I can describe it would be like a mushy out of tune sound..
It wasn't the guitar either, Because I brought my own ESP MII...

I ended up buying my g/f a 75 watt Vypyr, every thing was good with that amp until recently now it likes to forget the user presets and all kinds of stuff..
It was the latest software version also because I checked the Peavey forums on how to get the amp to flash what software version it had so that I could make sure before buying it...

Would never buy either of the amps especially the Peavey again..

Looks like I will be buying my g/f a better replacement amp this year..

My dorm room amp which I like quite a lot (minus the JMP-1):

Either Guitar Rig Through Headphones or This....

I have one of these little gems. It will even drive a 4x12. Wild! I don't use it much though.

My practice amp... I was going to post a picture, but my son is nagging me out the door. I owe him a trip to Toys R Us... Anyway, No joke I use my 5150 with mis-matched cab stack for home practice. Although, I admit, I recently moved into a duplex, and there is nobody upstairs yet. So, we'll see how it plays out.

you know those little vox amps dont get enough credit.

ive played 1 or 2 that sounded terrible tone wise, but most if not all would make an excellent bedroom practice amplifier.

if i didnt have my vypyr, id be looking into an old peavey bandit 112 or one of those little vox models.

Check out the Fender Vibro Champ XD, I tried every little practice amp out there and felt this one had the most organic quality and highest quality features/sounds/effects, plus the power section is 5 watts from a 6v6 the pre amp is all digitally modeled, and I put this against everything, the Vox, new marshall MG's, Line 6's you name it, for $189 at guitar center it can't imo be beat.

here's a really low volume clip and I mean nearly as low as it goes

Randall RM20. The MTS Modular series 112 combo. One slot for a module of your choice, clean, crunch, high gain, etc.

Silent record XLR out, greenback. Great tone at very quiet levels. Had it in my living room for a few years and it was incredible. Since I'm running an Egnater Mod50, I can get ALMOST the same tone as my real live rig in a practice amp.

I'm actually selling mine, ever since I completed the mancave, I just don't need it.

I needed a small bedroom practice set-up. I actually went into GC with one of my guitars and tried them all out yesterday. It was really close, went in with the idea of getting the Fender Super Champ XD, and I almost got the HT5 full stack which I really liked instead, but I wanted something more versatile for practice and what not. So after trying them all, the Vox VT30 won and I took it home. The HT5 was hard to walk away from, but I wanted more versatility in a bedroom practice amp, not just one or two good tones. The VT30 had some really great sounds going on, and with the on board effects and the foot switch that's available, it was the clear winner. In a pinch, I would even take the VT30 to a small gig.

V-Amp Pro w/ Headphones is my only option after the kiddies have went to bed ;)

Mine is the amp on the left in my avatar.

(Boosted HT-5 into a 1960A)

The Blackstar HT-5 is a great little amp but most modern amps these days can sound great at low volumes. I sold the Blackstar because my Electradyne sounds great at bedroom volumes, so 1 amp is all I need now.
